Looks to be in pretty excellent condition, and no cracked lugs. How much would this snare generally go for? It seemed like a reasonable BIN price for the snare.

Was this snare called a Midnighter as opposed to dynasonic, or powertone? Nutbox I see your planning on bringing this snare home to it's motherland. Good luck with the bidding!

Re: Mardi Gras Snare - English Rogers w/ B&B lugs
Rogers M, in English Rogers this wrap was known as Mardi Gras. However I have been told by an old timer on another site that in Ajax's other ranges it was known as Midnight Sparkle. I have seen Edgware sets in this wrap.
This snare would have been called a Holiday.
In the UK one of these snares would usually go for about £100 ($220 or so?). This is Mardi Gras however so could expect more. The BIN is a little high. When you add in shipping and then import duty and tax the price starts to climb. I have been hit like this before so I am not keen to jump at the BIN.
Thanks again for pointing it out. I don't always keep track of every thing available in the US. Let's wait and see what happens.

I note the hoops are not like US ones... Shell, too. And I assume the B&Bs are different hole spacing also, right Nutbox?
This looks like a UK time capsule. Wow.

Re: Mardi Gras Snare - English Rogers w/ B&B lugs
TK, interesting what you say about the hoops. I have been thinking that what I should do is take some good photos of my lugs and hoops and maybe a few measurements and ask you guys to comment on them. That should clear up all the uncertainty.
This Mardi snare looks all there. The shell of this one looks to be birch. Strainer looks a bit rusty but has the original damper and script logo.
It is a shame that this UK wrap fades as it does. All you get left with is pink and silver confetti but under the fittings you can see that some of those silver pieces were once gold and green.

Re: Mardi Gras Snare - English Rogers w/ B&B lugs
Well I tried my best. I won the auction, but the reserve was not met. I have sent a message via eBay now that the auction is over making the seller an offer. Can any of you experienced eBay users please tell me if such a message is likely to be allowed to get through.
Thanks
Alan

Nutbox, I really hope you get this. It belongs to the "Keeper of the English Rogers Flame."
