Had the rare fortunate to not only see Buddy Rich in person, but got to shake his hand afterwards. He and his band were playing up at Disneyland in the Carnation Plaza stage. I got there really early and got a spot right up next to his drum set on the floor. Amazing how fast his hands and stick play was. I cannot remember the year, but it was a memory that I will always treasure.
