The Infamous Series II
1981: This picture shows a couple Rogers Series II prototypes that were there in my office when I was hired.
By the way, the plastic that was used for the lugs and hardware in the production run was NOT the plastic that R&D (I presume Dave D.) had spec'd when Series II was designed. Jim Ganduglia told me when I first started at Rogers that somebody somewhere between the vendor who molded the parts and our corporate bean counters made a decision to to switch to ABS plastic. ABS plastic is cheap, and it's cheesey. No engineer would have endorsed using ABS for this application. Had the parts been made of the intended materials, the Series II product may not have made such a large crater.
