All those bass drum shells piled up outside are all rejects from when the plant was in Mexico. The pearl has to be stripped off of each one with acetone (there's another picture that shows one of the workers doing that). New shells would not have been stacked that way. Notice how the black and white ones are stacked next to the raw shells.

No heat gun. There's another picture posted that shows stripping the shells with some commentary. Fumes? Let's just say I don't like being around my daughter when she's taking off her nail polish.
