WATCHOUT !! Steel Gray Ripple Holiday on Ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/60s-Rogers-Holiday-Snare-Drum-5-x-14-Grey-Ripple-Pearl_W0QQitemZ220125763492QQihZ012QQcategoryZ38095QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
This is a 1962 Holiday 5X14 snare that came with B&B lugs, they have been replaced with Beavertail lugs.
The large washers inside the drum aren't original and cover the slotted holes.
If you look at the smaller washer in this picture you can see part of a slotted hole.
It should have tall hoops also, I can't tell from the pictures.
It's not original.

Thanks Bruce. Good eye! I like the early no cup flat internal muffler look. Peace, Gary

Re: WATCHOUT !! Steel Gray Ripple Holiday on Ebay
I stuck a bid on it at the start to remain informed about the auction before studying the pics. My brother pointed out the slots to me and it all made sense.
The seller did contact me today and relayed that he had been informed about this and warned me. It looked like a mass email that he sent out to everybody that bid so that is cool of him. I hope he updates the listing though because people should be warned BEFORE they bid if possible.
Thanks Longroll, you might have saved a deal of people some time and money.
Let me ask this question though, has anyone ever seen a holiday with beavertails. I know the characteristics changed in reverse order but.... An old tag hanging around etc..

Re: WATCHOUT !! Steel Gray Ripple Holiday on Ebay
Looks like I found the right forum, maybe not the right thread but the right place to verify my newest batch of Rogers drums and all that is right or wrong with them.
Nice to find y'all here
