“F” stamps inside Rogers shells
Hey guys, I have been compiling info about these stamps for a while and I have written a little story about it. I am relying heavily on my fellow Rogers friends on this forum to help me explore this further. So, if you can, read this and check your drums to see how many more "F" stamps are out there and what consistencies we can find among these drums. Thanks!!

Issac:
Great writing, as usual in your MyOldGuitars post.
Could the "F" also mean "Finished?"
Why didn't they continue this trend in later drums?
Interesting thoughts here. it would be nice if someone from the factory could speak up on the issue.

Re: “F” stamps inside Rogers shells
Went looking for "F" stamps and found some more in Clockface early beavertail Powertone snares with 2xxx and 3xxx serial numbers. Also in Holiday B+B snares, toms and bass drums with 23,xxx-29,xxx serial numbers.
Isaac has a beavertail Luxor with 4 digits and a B+B paper tag Dyna with the "F" stamps.
My question is for Bruce...What years(approximate range) does the F fall into place from these digits?
None found in eagle badge drums or odd script late 50s era drums. So...1960-1963? What the "F" stamp???

Re: “F” stamps inside Rogers shells
My Rogers Powertone, number 3732, Sparkling Blue Pearl, 5x14, narrower rerings, (not as tall as the ones in your later pics, more similar to the first one) has the F stamp in the lower rering. This drum has an early swivo throw, which I believe was a replacement prior to my ownership. Other than that, hoops, rods, washers, are all original to my knowledge.

Re: “F” stamps inside Rogers shells
Holiday 23xxx is end of 1961
Holiday 29307 is end of 1962
Powertone 3209 is mid to end of 1963
Powertone 3732 is end of 1963
Powertone's 2xxx to 3xxx is 1963

Re: “F” stamps inside Rogers shells
Thanks Bruce! You jazz...I mean rock!
Sounds like the purple stuff to me. A distinct difference for about a 3 yr run. What was it with this company and doing quirky things for a few year trial period? Damn those factory fires and the records that were lost. Keep looking and add more if you see the F. Don't hold back now...pull that top head off!
Rogersoholic, the flat grey one in the above picture has a Holiday tag 23xxx serial number. Where is yours?

Re: “F” stamps inside Rogers shells
Gary, I was assuming that the flat bearing edge drums were before F time. That is a new discovery. RAD!!!
The latest Holiday tags that I have found are a blue onyx 22"bass drum and 13" rack tom. Cleveland numbers 45331, and 45332. Other than that, they seem most common in 2xxxx or 3xxxx numbers.
The span seems to be getting wider!

Re: “F” stamps inside Rogers shells
Cleveland, 8x12, Red Wine Ripple, 44893, "F" upper ring, assemblers mark on the tag is a single pen line in the decorative border.
Serials on the 14x20 are 44911, and the 16x16 is 44955, Also Cleveland, no "F" stamp.
I have a Cleveland Sparkling Blue Pearl 16x16, 51629, no "F" stamp. The other drums in this set 20-12-14x14, are close number flat gray daytons. 62xxx range, no F.
All Holiday drums.
