Dodgy throw off

Had my COB dyna for a few months now and have noticed the throw off is a little worn. There seems to be some lateral play in the whole mechanism. The lever doesn't stay clicked into its notch fully and some low volume sensitivity is lost - ghost notes etc. At the moment i've resorted to tying the end of the lever to the nearest tension rod head with elastic band, which seems to work although this ain't great for quickly losing the snare sound during a quiet passage of a song.

Anyone out there help?

You'll see them on eBay quite regularly. I've had mine since 1964 and have hed no issues with it.

According to Cooks' Rogers book, there was a difference between the strainer on the Dyna and the Powertone. The Dyna had a deeper notch in the lower left portion of the cam and tension screw assembly and is identified by a "D" stamped into the front on the casing that houses the screw. ( The Rogers Book page 125)
