Re: Setting up a DynaSonic Has anyone had to deal with one of the snare wires coming loose from one side? The guy at a drum shop said to just cut it off - I think I'd rather try to solder it back in place . . .
Re: Setting up a DynaSonic I got as far as taking a good look at the snare. I tend to go with Bruce now - soldering one might cause the other ones next to it to come loose. It will be cut off and filed down to remove any shape edges . . .
Re: Setting up a DynaSonic Thanks for a very informative site. As for cutting snare wires, I had to do that many years ago. Eventually, I had to replace the snares because almost 1/2 of the original ones were gone. I found a reproduction set of replacement snares and they've been working just fine. Good luck.
Re: Setting up a DynaSonic The biggest reason snare wires break on Dynas is that the snare tension adjuster is way overtightened. Never use a screw driver, only tighten finger tight. It doesn't take much.
