Seam placement on Powertone shells

I am into the rewrap phase of my Fullertons. I am asking for info which might be useful (I hope) for everyone.
I need the placement of the seam on the following:
8"/10"/12"/16"/22" and a wood Powertone snare. It would be easiest if the directions were like:

12" tom - 3rd lug clockwise from the grommet.

The 8 and 10" were concert toms (obviously) so I guess something like:

2nd lug clockwise from the swivo mount would be good.

Also can I ask - is the seam exactly under a lug hole (so the wrap cuts through 2 layers?

I really appreciate your time - these drums were bear but nakked when I got em. Not for long!!

Regards,

PK.

Re: Seam placement on Powertone shells

I just pulled out my 71 Fullertons and here are the findings:

The 10 and 12 have the seam under the lug directly to the right of the wing collet. There is a 1" overlap, both under the right side.
The exact position of the seam is under left edge of the protruding bead down the center of the beavertail lug.

16" Floor tom - 1st lug to the right of the grommet with a 1 1/2" overlap again tto the right. Seam directly under the lug.

22" Bass - 2 lugs to the left of the grommet - which is the 1st lug right of the leg. This time the overlap is under the left side and the seam falls under the right side of the protruding bead of the lug

The snare is a Dayton...wrap meets at the first lug right of the grommet with a 1" overlap. Straight down the center of the lug.

Thanks for asking the question...it gave me a chance to pull out the kit and admire it for awhile.......I have had it packed away far too long, waiting for that perfect gig. Good luck with the job. What pearl are you using ?

Thanks so much for this very helpful post. These things take time to do and it's impossible to get this type of information without someone's generous contribution.

The drums are going to be WMP and I will post . . .

Cheers, pk.
