Recovering a bass drum

I have 2 pieces of wrap here for a 20" kick. Should the smaller piece be put on first, with the larger simply going over the top? If I centre the pieces, this will mean that neither seam will be covered by lugs. But the large piece will cover almost all the drum. They're not meant to be interleaved are they? No instructions on this part of the job . . . emoticon

I have a 20 recovered by a pro. Small piece is on first, then the large piece applied with overlap on top. They do not line up with lugs.

You could make them line up that way if you have proper lengths, but not necessary. He then used superglue (carefully) on the edge of the seam to lock it down.

From the factory, the seams were placed under the lugs. The larger piece was trimmed to accomplish this. I have seen the overlap going either way, but usually the smaller piece went on first.
