Im "Glad all over" and "I like it like that"
Well its in the mail... Ive decided to venture out of my comfort zone {Cleveland era}.. I met this guy who has a Rogers 1968 Dayton 5 piece Dave Clark Londoner in red sparkle and all the hardware. I couldnt say no.. He says they've been in storage for 30 years. All original heads and all. Included was the wood powertone. Everything is just as it was in the 1968 catalog. He said he played it, didnt like it, and put it away... Wife wanted the space... so it had to go. I never had a Londoner set before. Im wondering what they sold for new. Hopefully Gary will chime in with the Grossman price guide and help me out. I see it in the 68 cat here on the forum. Should be here wed. Im sooo nervous and like an 8 year old on Christmas eve... lol pics coming soon...

DC RED
Great score! Congrats. $635.00 without cymbals. The price was found in the 68 CBS 20 page pocket catalog. The Grossman counter catalog for 68 shows Duplex and import Dixie. Sold the good name in 66.
you mean we get to see more Rogers pics...yaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!
Peace, Gary

Re: Im "Glad all over" and "I like it like that"
Drums are unreal... totally as described.. Some newbie sellers tend to over state things, not in this case.. They truely are excellent. I had to look for issues. I found one cut in the wrap on the bottom of the bass drum.. Alot of original heads except the bass. He had batters top and bottom. Some old circle logos on the 12" that I will remove and put on some early 60's drums.. Bearing edges are sharp as new... This set did not get much use. Its a closet set for sure. He said it sat in his closet for 30+ years. All the screws inside are super clean. No oxidation. The original heads are broken on the snare. Looks like he broke the heads and then put the set away.. I would be safe in saying its the cleanest set I own. It does need to be cleaned up. No pitting, scratches in wrap, snare rash, 0 fade.. nadda. Im very happy... Guy was great to deal with too. Thanks again.. Now I better get busy cleaning {Im just wiping them down} and changing the heads, which I seem to be running out of... Thanx for letting me bend yer ears.. Pics coming soon..
