Re: Where did your "handle" come from?
Mine is a long story.
In far northern California, between Eureka and Cresent City, the enormous Redwood trees grow. The tallest tree in the world is near there. About a hundred years ago, they also logged this area, so all that's left of these trees, in some areas, are gigantic stumps, big enough to drive a car on!
When I was little, we used to go hiking in this area often. One time, my dad, being the silly dad that he is, commented on the giant stumps saying that "it must have been one giant beaver that chewed these trees down and made the stumps." I added, " The stumps were cut down a long time ago, so it must have been a giant prehistoric beaver." My dad added, "That was back in the ice age, so it must have been a giant prehistoric wooly beaver." I added, "those stumps are very flat, so the beaver must have had a saw-tooth." After that, this giant prehistoric wooly saw-tooth beaver was brought up every time we went hiking in this the area, and soon became a cherished childhood memory.
And that is how it was born: GPWSBeaver stands for Giant Prehistoric Wooly Saw-tooth Beaver.

That is so neat! Great story!
I only collect CC/SF rabbits, thus my handle. Stems from my love of real bunnies. I currently have two house rabbits--Megan (a sweetie Dutch) will be 10 years old on 7/31--have had her since she was just a kit, and then there is Charlie, who we adopted last summer--he's a 2 year-old little stinker (English Spot).

Wendy those are the best kind of stories the ones that have been around for ages and have a memory attached to them. I have to say I always wondered where you handle had come from

Re: Where did your "handle" come from?
Awsome story Wendy, I just new there had to be some good stories out there.
Justrabbits, I should call myself "everythingbutrabbits" because as the name says I dont do rabbits
We too have bunnies, and the decision not to collect SF bunnies was financial rather than species linked. We had a house rabbit but after she chewed through all five of ther cables in the back of the TV cabinet, caused a massive scorch on the cabinet and carpet and nearly burnt us she was packed off outside to live with our other bunny. Buddy was inherited from a family who wernt giving him enough attention so he was very sad, then he came to our place where he roams the yard and had our own sweet Jump for company. Sadly Jump passed on last year but Buddy is still going strong and has a chicken for company now - something hes not exactly thrilled about.

Thanks, everyone!
I've enjoyed reading about your user names too. They often teach us a little about each other.

Re: Where did your "handle" come from?
That's funny, Wendy, because I would have never guessed what your user name meant.
What I guessed was GrandParents WaterS Beaver, so GPWSBeaver. I don't know why I thought that but guessed maybe you were hoping that the Waters might have grandparents. Cute little beaver grandparents with glasses. Who could resist?
Haha!

Re: Where did your "handle" come from?
Grandparent beavers would be awesome!
The beaver has been my favorite animal ever since I was a kid (even before the above story took place), and I got my first family, the Waters, simply because they were beavers. So they do hold a special place in my heart.
So, you can thank the beaver for getting me hooked on Sylvanians. I probably would have never bought a family if my favorite animal had been anything but one of those original 8 families.

Re: Where did your "handle" come from?
And here I thought some of my old usernames (like "The Gundam They Called Zero" or "The $$60 Billion Man", both episode titles from anime series) were clever. ^_^;

Re: Where did your "handle" come from?
My handle MotherMoonGoddess is connected to my belief's. I am a Kitchen Witch and practice Wicca. To understand my name you need some knowledge of Wicca itself. In my belief their is a God and Goddess. The God is represented by the Sun and the Goddess by the Moon. During a month....the moon/goddess goes through three phases: Maiden, Mother, Crone just as a woman does during her lifetime. At the time I chose my name I was in the "Mother" phase of my life therefore I felt it was quite appropriate to use it in my name. I added Moon in honor of the Goddess and as a connection to the Moon Phase (Mother)that represented my stage in life and then Goddess because of her connection with the Moon. I hope this makes sense to all of you.

I only use duckpuddle on these boards. The name's because I lke the Puddlefords. On other boards I use bbqweasel, which I got after watching 'I Am Weasel' years ago on 'Cow and Chicken' where I.R. Baboon was roasting I.M. Weasel. Yeah...
