This forum would continue to exist with an announcement and link as to where to find us. I believe if the board is inactive for a specific amount of time, it will self terminate. All I would have to do is bump a post now and then.
The new forum would require me to have the forums hosted which will run 70 dollars a year. Right now, this is the biggest issue, although my wife would like me to add an adoption forum as well to the main boards, so this may be a go.
I'll keep you all updated.

I suspect I understand why you chose to stay.
I noticed that the directory structure has disappeared from the header over the forums. At least for me, not having that makes navigating your board more difficult.

Under the shjihm graphic at the upper left above the threads, the particular forum is indicated. Right now, for instance, I see
Announcements
BIG ANNOUNCEMENT etc...
It used to show the root for your entire forum. If I wanted to go back to the top level, I could just click on that. Now, I don't see a way to navigate back out without going up into the address bar and deleting everything after the bshijm.
