Adopting My wife and I have decided to adopt a child from China. We just began the long journey this past week. I ask you my friends to remember my wife and I in your prayers, and especially the unborn child that I pray God will unite us with.

Re: Adopting Tony, I am so sorry I only just read this now, but I have tears of joy for you, my friend. How wonderful! You absolutely have my prayers. Do you know if it will be a little girl? I know that most often it is baby girls that are available from China. One of our newscasters who recently retired had a daughter who adopted a baby girl from China and they did a story on her. Her last night on the news she brought her in (she's about 5 or 6 now) and she was such a beautiful little girl.
Are there any new developments since you first posted this?
Odds are that we will be adopting a baby girl. Since girls are the most abandoned babies in China. There is a chance we could get a boy, but very unlikely. (I'm really hoping for a little girl )
We have requested twins as well. Childless couples are given the chance to adopt twins
The journey to adoption is long. You can not believe the paperwork. We have just completed our paper work for our home study and have scheduled physical appointments for this coming Monday. Once the physicals are out of the way, the home study can begin.

Re: Adopting Yes, I know the adoption process is quite a long one. I imagine patience is one of the greatest difficulties! Do keep us posted on everything. And when you have a baby or babies assigned to you, please let me know! After finally getting my little girl, I have gotten into making my own little hair bows and would be so delighted to make some for you if God sends you some pink bundles! Lauren won't keep them in these days, so I have to live vicariously through others, LOL!
Adopting Well, Deanna and I are coming along with our paperwork. Our home study is scheduled for July 25 and Aug 1. Our adoption parenting class is on Aug 7.

Adopting Tom, a home study is where a social worker visits your home to see where the child will live and to point out what may not be safe for a child. There job is to make your home baby friendly
As far as going to China, that can happen within a year in a half to 2 years.
