SHJIHM :: Miscellaneous Apologetics :: The Septuagint vs. the Masoretic Text ~ Runboard
"There are not over a hundred people in the United States who hate the Catholic Church. There are millions, however, who hate what they wrongly believe to be the Catholic Church, which is, of course, quite a different thing." -Bishop Fulton J. Sheen
Placating terrorists, meeting with dictators, compassion for murderers... but no humanity for the unborn... incredible.

The Septuagint vs. the Masoretic Text What is the relationship between the Dead Sea scrolls and the
Greek Old Testament version known as the Septuagint? The witness
of the Dead Sea scrolls proves that not only does the Septuagint derive
from an ancient Hebrew text pre-dating the Masoretic text by some
700-1100 years, but that the Septuagintal version is acknowledged to
be superior to the Masoretic text in some cases, and that it was not a
"corrupt" version as was once believed by Biblical scholars. Here is
the intriguing saga of the Dead Sea scrolls found at Qumran, and their
fascinating "witness" to the value of the Greek Septuagint text!
