SHJIHM :: Christian Pub :: The murder of the abortionist Dr. Tiller ~ Runboard
"There are not over a hundred people in the United States who hate the Catholic Church. There are millions, however, who hate what they wrongly believe to be the Catholic Church, which is, of course, quite a different thing." -Bishop Fulton J. Sheen
Placating terrorists, meeting with dictators, compassion for murderers... but no humanity for the unborn... incredible.
OOT
Re: The murder of the abortionist Dr. Tiller I hate to admit it, but I've become a bit addicted to reading the debates over there. (Sometimes I put in my .02 as well.) If the comments that I read there are at all representative of the general public, it is truly frightening. Those of us that are pro-life (or heck, just call ourselves Christians) are probably just pen strokes away from being labeled terrorists.
Re: The murder of the abortionist Dr. Tiller Why waste an opportunity? The only real value of a label like 'terrorist' is in its ability to justify persecution of those so labeled. At the very least we are to be stripped of our political rights.
America is losing its sane middle. The extremist are in charge because there is so little bourgeois sensibility left to keep them in check. What sensibility there is remaining in the population will be charged with whatever the modern equivalent of the term 'anti-revolutionary' is. Apparently that term is terrorist which has a certain irony to it considering the Jacobin origins of the word.
Re: The murder of the abortionist Dr. Tiller Oh, there is some poster who calls himself Michael over there. Annoying since that is usually the blog handle I use but clearly he is not I.
Re: The murder of the abortionist Dr. Tiller Yeah, no kidding. Unless I had gone schizo or something. He seems to be right at home on those comboxes. I am shocked at how few Christians are posting there. Mostly just haters.
Re: The murder of the abortionist Dr. Tiller By the way, over there they keep talking about this "social safety net spending" that pro-lifers (who want even the special needs babies to be allowed to be born) object to, that, I guess, they reason would reduce those abortions. Do you know what that is all about? Just more government programs, I guess?
I'm not buying it. Suddenly people are going to want imperfect babies they are going to have to care for probably for the rest of their lives because the government is going to help? People who are poor are going to have the baby so they can still have nothing AND have a baby? The problem isn't the money. The problem is people have been conditioned to have sex whenever they want and then when they get pregnant not to want the babies no matter what. It's a sham. People here want to adopt babies and there are none because they are being aborted.
Re: The murder of the abortionist Dr. Tiller The rationalization that many liberal Catholics used to justify voting for Obama despite his pro-abortion record was that he would provide social spending programs that would reduce the number of women seeking abortion.
With a pro-abortion president in the White House, new sub-groups in the broader "culture of death" are coming into view. One of them is dark, indeed.
Take two recent events: Dr. George Tiller is compared to Martin Luther King, Jr. The president of Catholics for Choice attacks a political appointee, Alexia Kelley, who defended Obama's abortion record before the nation's Catholic voters.
As head of Catholics in Alliance with the Common Good, Alexia Kelley was second only to Doug Kmiec in making Obama's record on abortion palatable to Catholics. Aren't these two organizations supposed to be on the same side? Why wouldn't Catholics for Choice applaud Ms. Kelley's appointment to the faith-based office of the Department of Health and Human Services?
