Ok, so I think it's time we get as many old-forum members back as possible.
We need to contact Starz, Larry, El_Gazza, Nathan.uk etc.
Hell Saltica showed up, and had left before I even came here. (And THAT was like before 2000)
Edit:
Emails have been sent, the wheels are in motion... yes... the wheels are in motion.

Hi,
thanks for notifying me vulcan146.
I'm looking forward for some good debates in the forums, as long as Dion is working on his new project...

Oh darn, I didn't make it onto the 'old-timers' list. Sigh. Guess I'll just have to troll all the more...

Re: Ok, so I think it's time we get as many old-forum members back as possible.
Heyyy. This is starz.
I had to get a new username because I forgot my old password (and don't use the same email as the one I used to sign up with.. those forget password things are so useless).
Anyways. I always check up once in awhile on SCG and was disappointed when the silicmdr.com went down. But now that a new site is up.. And well.. I'm excited.
I have transfered from UC Riverside to UC San Diego... And I will be a third year majoring in Math-CS. I loved SV and Winwar, more than playing them, because I got to make brains/scenarios etc. I loved brains and AIs. And I think these games have actually shaped my future goals in research.
Sorry for the tangent, but I'm nostalgic.
Anyhow, glad to be remembered. Glad to see people still here. And I just hope to see new games come out.
=) I want to play winwar. And I want to win.
P.S. I have a macbook now (and I LOVE it)... So... hahaha, can't really play but we'll see what we can do about that.

HI!
Uhm... Not to be hopeless, but this place is dead.
But well, I still visit this sometimes! ^^
Yep, those days of SV and WW was cool. But as I commented somewhere here, it's complicated think about those games when you can play World of Warcraft, Second Life, Age of Empires 3... etc.
I got an idea. Let's all do a big huge battle, in both of games. (like the one we had in SV once. ^^) So all you need to do after read this post is come back here weekly. It doesn't bite!
Probally my last hope to bring life to this place, so, obey it! IT'S AN ORDER! ^^

I'm still here.
Maybe we just need something to discuss.
So one of the things that Warcraft 3 had was auto-cast. In that if there was a skill that you always wanted to automatically use when applicable, it would automatically use it. Do you think that's a good thing or a bad thing?

Uhm... Good. Usually those casts with auto-cast weren't so powerfull, and often were something tricky to do manually. Like Corpse colection from the Meat Wagon.

Re: Ok, so I think it's time we get as many old-forum members back as possible.
Ah, but the diehard Starcraft fans always talk about how micromanagement is important. If you add autocast, you significantly reduce the amount of micromanagement required, which reduces the amount of skill required to play the game.
