Chapter 01: An Unforgetable Encounter
Madison Murphy is an established twenty-two year old writer. Long dark lockes, bright blue eyes, tan complected... she had the body of a goddess, a heart of gold and a mind of great genius. But like any other ordinary person, she had issues. Insecurities, doubts, fear... every day she watched relationships blossom, grow and in the end... fade. She'd never had a boyfriend because of her feelings. "If you don't give into your emotions, your life will be happier... easier." - that was her motto. And she'd lived by it, word for word up until this point. Of course, she had her fair share of admirer's, but she'd brush them off. Maybe a little harmless flirtation here and there, but that was as far as it'd go. Not only was she extremely shy, but she wasn't willing to let a guy get in the way of her dreams. NO man would ever come before that.
She on the edge of the towering cliff, staring out into a deep haze of nothingness. The shining stars in the sky couldn't phase her, when usually she'd be entranced. She didn't care anymore...
She stopped writing in the middle and ripped the page out in frustration. "Ugh! This sucks..." she huffed. She slid out of her lying position on the floor, and stood up. Looking down at her laptop, she sighed lightly, saying, "I need a break from this. I need a LONG one at that. A vaction, yes... that sounds wonderful." then an idea entered her thoughts.
She silently walked over to her nightstand and dug her cellphone out of her purse and dialed an all too familiar number. Two rings and the other end picked up.
"Hello?"
"Hey mom!"
"Darling! It's about time I hear from you. How's your new project going?"
"Not too good right now. I'm under alot of pressure, and I... just can't deal with it now. It's why I'm calling. I was thinking about taking a vacation, you know... with the summer coming up and all. Maybe if I get away from Michigan for awhile, away from everyone I know...."
She didn't have to say much more, "You want to stay at our cottage in Toronto for the summer?" she answered upon motherly instinct. She'd known EXACTLY what she wanted, and of course... would give it to her. "The cabin on the Christensen estate. We just had it remodeled last summer, and there's plenty of necessities there on hand, you wouldn't need to bring anything but clothes."
She smiled against the reciever, "How'd you know I was going to ask about that?"
"Motherly instinct, I suppose." she added.
"I love you, you know that, right? And daddy too. I'm sorry I don't stop by enough for visits."
"We know. Just as long as you call from time to time, we're happy." her mother nodded.
"I think I will go to Toronto. Do I need to stop by for the keys?"
"No. Actually, it should be under the mat near the door when you arrive."
"Thanks mom." she sweetly replied. "I owe you one."
"Don't worry about it, honey. You deserve this vacation."
"I'm gonna let you go now... it's still early, if I'm lucky I should be able to get there by-" she pauses purposely looking down at her watch, "It's three o'clock right now. If I'm gone by four, then I should arrive there around nine."
"Okay sweetie! Have a good time! And don't discourage yourself from making new friends. It'll do you good!"
She hung up the phone moments later, only to say to herself, "Friends. Right. Exactly what am trying to take a break from."
Madison arrived at the countryside only minutes after nine o'clock. "Right on time." she smiled, getting out of her car and standing hanging over the door. "God, this place is beautiful." she looks around, surveying her suroundings. It was such a beautiful countryside. Probably even more beautiful in the daylight. There was a huge expansion of a beach, which the Christensen family lived just off the edge of. The family who owned this property had to be raking in billions, she thought. But how her parents had come to own the little cottage just less than a hundred feet from their mansion, she still wondered about that herself. Then she remembered how her father had mentioned that he had been childhood friends with David Christensen, and that's when she put two and two together.
"This should be fun," she mumbled to herself shortly, slamming the driver's side door and opening the trunk to grab her suitcases. "A vacation from the real world. On a peaceful countryside." she smiled softly, tracking towards the front door of the cottage. "I'm really going to enjoy this."
Hours later, she had already unpacked the suitcases she brought in before, and was comfortably wrapped up on the couch reading a book. Shortly thereafter, she became bored. She had lived most of her life in the safe zone; never really bending or breaking the rules. She'd felt tempted, of course, but who didn't? But she couldn't change who she was. Another typical goody two shoes. But now she was reaching the point where she was tired of it. She wanted to live a little. Be spontaneous.
She threw her book down on the floor with a mischevious grin, "It's summer. I'm on vacation. In a beautiful country. Where nobody knows me. Why not? Why not take a chance?" she stood up and headed for the door.
She opened the door and stepped out onto the patio, taking a look around herself, her eyes falling on the beach. "It's nearly one o'clock in the morning. I doubt anyone is up at this hour. Where's the harm?" she convinced herself, tracking bare-footed through the sand and towards the water, dropping her pale blue, spagetti-strapped sundress to her ankles before jumping in for a little innocent skinny dipping.

Re: Beautiful Disaster: Chapter 01
"I told you once, Alexa! She's just a friend!" he groaned hopelessly, running his fingers through his curly locks in frustration. "If you can't trust me, then maybe we shouldn't be together anymore." he added in a cool manner, looking at her from the side.
"WHAT?! What are you saying, Hayden?"
He only shook his head and looked away, "If you can't control this jealous behavior of yours, then it's over between us."
"Honey, I'm sorry..." she reached out for his hands, but he only tore away and stood up as if in a rush to leave.
"That's EXACTLY what you said the last time! It's always I'm sorry. I'm sick of this. It's one step forward, then two steps back. I don't want to be in a relationship like that. One where trust doesn't exsist. Your not happy with what I do. You hate it when I'm gone, and leave a message on my voice mail every five minutes wanting to know what I'm doing. You get angry when I want to spend time with my friends, and your blood pressure sky rockets whenever you see me hanging out with Katherine or Rosalie." he turned to face the door, ready to walk out of the mansion at any moment. "You can stay for the night, but come tomarrow morning... I think it's time you've left." he announced barely above a soft whisper, grasping his palm around the door knob.
"Please, oh god... NO!" she ran after him, his back turned to her, she wrapped her arms tightly around his waist. Her eyes red and blood shot, and her face puffy with mascara tear stains. "Please Hayden, I'm begging you... I LOVE YOU!!!"
He pushed her away without force. Looking down on her with sadness, but believing he was doing what was best for him and his sanity. "It's over Alexa. The sooner you accept that fact, the better. Then we can both move on with our lives." and with that, he walked out the door with a single tear rolling down his cheek.
He kept walking, not really paying attention to where he was going, and not really caring either way. He might've appeared to have been a bit heartless back there. And he knew that he had hurt her, but it's not what he had wanted. It was FAR from what he wanted. He cared for her, and a part of him did love her. But their love wasn't the reach for the stars, a connection of the souls, kind of love. Hayden wasn't even sure himself what that kind of love felt like. He wondered, would he even know when he finally found "the one"? Or could it be right under his nose and he didn't even know it....
His thoughts plagued him as he took a warm seat in the sand. He crossed his legs with his elbows rested upon the edge of his knees and closed his eyes, breathing in the summer night's fresh air. With his eyes closed, he didn't quite see the soaked vision swimming around in the water. And he wouldn't expect a thing until he let his hands fall to his sides. That's when he felt a soft material he KNEW wasn't sand. He opened his eyes and looked down in curiousity, picking up the material.
"What the hell?" his eyes narrowed, and confusion washed over his features. And suddenly, the owner of the material stood out from the water, slowly making her way towards Hayden, or her main concern... her dress. She didn't see him at first, but he sure the hell saw her. ALL of her. "Oh... my... god..." he was barely able to speak above gasps. His eyes never once falling off her body. She was like an angel, he thought. "Am I dreaming?" he asked himself, standing up and softly blushing. He was rather quiet shy, and he knew decieving eyes would cause a scene only moments later.
At first, she remained oblivious to his precense as she inched closer to him. His appearance not coming quite into focus until she was standing only feet away from him. Once they had made eye contanct though, she froze instantly. Feeling ashamed, embarassed and violated all at once. "What... OH GOD!" she desperately tried to cover herself up, but unfortunately only had her hands.
As much as he tried, he couldn't tear his eyes away from her. His face turned more beat red with each second that passed between them. "I, uhhhh...." he struggled for words, but remained like a deer caught in headlights. "Ummm... I was just... I'm sorry. Here." he was finally able to tear his eyes away from her, and he instantly looked away, reaching out and offering her dress back.
She couldn't help but smile at how shy he seemed to have become from seeing her. It was cute, she thought. She took the dress from him and slipped it back on within seconds. "What are you doing out here anyway?" she asked softly, giving him the cue that she was decent and he turned around.
"Um, yeah. I... I live here." he replied, still suffering from the after shock. She noticed of course, and couldn't help but laugh. This in turn, drew a pout from him. "What?"
"Your blushing."
"Oh... well," he sighed. "Just because that sign over there," he instinctively pointed towards the NO TRESPASSING sign, "reads Private Property, it doesn't necessarily mean you should walk around indecently exposed." he knew he'd come off a little harsh, but he was still coming off an embarassing moment and reacted to it with slight annoyment.
"Well EXCUSE me, I didn't think anyone would be out here at ONE o'clock in the morning, spying on me!"
"I wasn't spying. I like to call it observing." he added with a sly grin, playing his cool card. "And besides, I own part of this estate. I don't NEED a pass to sit on the beach in the middle of the night," he turned and walked past her, so he was now standing directly behind her. "Not that I didn't mind the view." he whispered into her ear.
Her eyes grew wide and her mouth dropped, "And here I thought I had you pegged for the typical mama's boy. Quiet, shy, content. First impressions are never right." she breathed, trying her best to ignore the fact that she could feel his breath on her neck.
"Maybe. Maybe not." he answered, backing away from her. "I like to keep things interesting." he smiled. "Hmmm... back to the sign, you DO KNOW this is a private estate?"
"I know." she nodded, quite unsure of the point he was getting at.
"Yeah, right. Now, can you give me ONE good reason why I shouldn't call security?" he raised an eyebrow slightly, his eyes fully on her.
