about last night's performance?

I believe that that was probably the best home performance this season and we could have been two to the good at half time save for a silly mistake by Craney and a bit more composure in front of goal.

Keith rates Dempster and keeps quoting five goals in three games, I'm sorry, Keith, but the stats don't lie, he had scored but one competitive goal this season before last night and was mainly anonymous when he came on. If he had something to prove, he didn't prove it to me, irrespective of the time he had on the pitch. If he was that good he would have shown it during the last quarter of the game. For me McPike, Gardner and Mills looked far more dangerous.

Evidently not.

I agreed with Keith's statistics because I misread and thought he meant 3 in 6, which seemed about right.

I didn't see the game, but people that were there told me that it was a better performance but a long way short of being a good one.

I thought it was a really good performance and the only difference between the two teams was that extra little bit of class in midfield and some big slices of luck.
As for Ross I think it's unfair to judge anyone coming on as sub when most of the game has been played but I thought he did OK.
Perhaps our biggest problem up front is the fact that it is chopped and changed every week.
Oh and finally, despite the good performance it's not changed my opinion on the management.

Clive-Ross was on the field for only 15 minutes ,scored 1 goal and made a chance for Dean.He has nothing to prove, his ability to score goals & bring others into play is not in question .He like the other two young stars Pugh & Price have never been given a proper chance.Take yesterday, the 3 of them are sitting on the bench, watching chance after chance go begging. While the 3 so called strikers that were on the pitch managed to squander 8 chances. In fact they couldn't hit a barn door from 6 yards. One chance was that easy I could of scored it and Iv'e been retired 37 years.Still what would I know about football Iv'e only been involved in it for over 60 years and played along side schoolboy Internationals and other great players.

It was interesting to note that a Gainsborough supporter in the pub had exactly the same criticism, stating that he would not pay a tenner to go and watch worn out players on too much money, when there were excellent youngsters who would play their hearts out but were not being given the chance. Its great to have football otherwise we would have to moan about the weather all the time.

No personal slight intended, Keith, I just disagree with you. Even I could have scored the goal he scored last Tuesday and I only played to county level - and then in goal! I would love to see the youngsters take the game by the scruff of the neck but I honestly don't think that they are capable of making the step up without being introduced slowly.

Last season at Hyde: a nothing game, we were safe, they were relegated and we played a bunch of youngsters who were pulled all over the park and we were mullered. It takes time to learn.

Clive, soz mate but I think I agre with Keith a bit here, whereas You r right, a bunch of them maybe no good, but Dempster, Ive liked what Ive seen and whilst Mark Gardner got a start instead of Jake on Saturday lets stick with this guy and just see what he can do.
Togther Gards and big JD both missed a host of chances at Gainsboro, at least 6 or 7 good ones, and i mean good ones.
Had Ross just nipped one in we would have had the three points. As for loaning him out to Studly and thats what would have happened, then I dont know, I think we may have a gem.
He strikes the ball well, even in the kick ins and I watch even League players who cant do that ..( Marcus BEnt proved that TUesday) well that is all, sorry Bob by the way, but the games about opinions and if supporters choose not to follow their team away in along 2 and 1/4 hr trip why not go watch our youngsters out on loan at local clubs, I think you were very wrong in your comments to Keith.

So I understand. Bit of a tiff over whether Ross was at Studley or bench warming at Gainsborough I believe.

Well he's still training with the Moors. If Bob knows he's not going to be playing on a Saturday why not loan him out? The experience will do him good and he may prove a point.
