It actually states both in the Devon FA handbook.
Page 135 (V) Following the date of posting of the written notice of approach, or receipt of an acknowledgment.
I would say the sensible thing would be the date of posting as you have to send it recorded or special delivery then the date on your receipt would count as the 1st day of approach.

Re: SDL Questions & Answer Possibly, will depend on how much time I have. At the moment before the season starts i estimate I will have over 1500 players to register in a month & then when the season starts you will probably be looking at an average of 150 transfers/registrations a month. When the SDL website is up & running it will cetainly be something I will consider. I have quite a few ideas in mind for the new website so watch this space if oldtramp doesn't mind me promoting it on here.
