Match Reports 5/9

66 5 - 3 Meadowbrook

A scoreline which flattered Meadowbrook in my opinion, should've been double figures really against a hardworking team. Meadowbrook scored 3 great goals and finished those chances extremely well but other than that didn't pose much threat to us.

We were pleased with the result considering the amount of players missing and had to play with a completely different back 4 from our usual starting eleven plus missing one of our strikers (although new signing Matt Peterson came in and did well).

Think Meadowbrook will do ok if they continue with that work ethic and they had a handy player up top with a great touch who could hold the ball up well.

The referee i thought missed some obvious decisions (including one stone wall penalty) and wasn't at all consistent in his decision making; seemed to be favouring the away team for large spells possibly trying even things a little unconciously. Nice bloke though and listened to players throughout.

Team: Kinsmann, Lofthouse, Streeter, Partyka, Bishop, Peart, Waldron, Reed, Allen, Meaden & Peterson. Subs used: Moore, Manley & Barrett.

Goals: Meaden (2) Peterson (2) Bishop (1) Great free kick

Re: Match Reports 5/9

Interesting report Guv - I was away for the weekend and also my assistant so it was left to two senior players to run the side, difficult when you are a playing.
I heard our goals were decent and that the 3 quick goals you scored just before half time to make it 4-1 was the killer. We did the same against KKC giving them a 3 goal lead before we woke up
We also had a few players missing, it would be good to get a settled side for a few games but again difficult when you only run one team. Struggled last year but hoping for a bit better this. Good to hear you think we'll be ok.
Look forward to the return and good luck

Kingsteignton Athletic Res 4 - East Allington Res 3

Kingsteignton started brightly and went 1-0 after1o minutes Mark Westlake scoring on his debut from close range after the keeper paried an initial shot, Kingsteignton then went two up Steven Dray's shot rebounding off the post for Westlake to pounce on for his second of the game, East Allington came back into the game and pulled a goal back on the stroke of half time, The second half, East Allington scored within 5 minutes of the restart, Kingsteignton re-took the lead with a sensational lob from Curtis Beetschen scored from just inside the East Allington half. Ashley Beetschen made it 4-2, a great driving shot into the top corner from the edge of the penalty box. East Allington got a third goal and continued to push with both sides getting tired, Kingsteignton could have sealed the game late on but Steven Dray's strike was blazed over from close range.

Benny ! Without showing them a lack of respect, they are very poor,we had 8 players missing,as we have every game to date, think a few back this weekend mind. We seemed to drop to there level, and ran out 4-2 winners,if we took our chnces would have been 7 0r 8 .

Mate i think you will batter them. If they have the same keeper, who in my opinion is not a keeper. I would say they have two decent players,a blonde centre half did ok,and the blonde lad up front a quality player.

I DO NOT MEAN TO DISS THE MORTON PLAYERS. Just my honest opinion.

My score prediction 7 or 8 nil mate to you guys.

Klins be quiet. lol Benny i reckon i could predict alot of local results, not really that interested in the prediction thing on here thou. By that i mean your results,66 and ours, teams i have a little interest in! ha ha

Think Chudliegh may be streghtened this weekend,as your first team play fri,and i think Gareth Davis could play too. We got a few more back this week anyhow. Will state now i am making the league my main conquest, cup a bonus. Plus lots of traveling with this one. See what occurs. lol

05/09/09 Kingskerswell & Chelston 6 - 1 Buckfastleigh Rangers

"Probably our worst performance for 2 years" was the reaction of Manager Dave Scholz after Buckfastleigh slumped to a heavy defeat at Armada Park.
The 2 teams were evenly matched for the first 25 minutes of the game and neither keeper was troubled early on, but the home side broke the deadlock when Tanner ran past the Bucks defence unchallanged to fire the ball past Ashley Wood.
Rangers were almost back on level terms minutes later when a superb free kick from Arren De Young rattled the crossbar. Rob Wotton then found himself in a good goalscoring position at the far post but his shot flashed just wide of the post.
It looked as though Rangers would find an equaliser but instead they found themselves 2-0 down when they failed to clear their lines to leave Tanner free to add his second of the game.
Eric Hale gave Rangers some brief hope when he scored a fine individual goal, looping the ball over the stranded keeper from 25 yards. Buckfastleigh needed to get to half time with the score at 2-1 but, when Gareth Dagger mis-timed his tackle to let Howard through on goal, they found themselves 2 goals adrift again as he fired an unstoppable shot past Wood into the corner of the net.
Rangers were by no means out of the game at the midway stage but the tie was effectively over in the 1st minute of the 2nd half when Wood spilled the ball from a low cross in the area, the ball was pulled back to the far post for a simple tap in to take the score to 4-1.
It was soon 5-1 when the impressive Tanner turned and fired a shot into the bottom corner to complete his hatrick.
Rangers showed brief glimpses of promise, De Young again hit the bar from 20 yards and Revell and Porter both fired wide when well placed.
But the home side completed the scoring ten minutes from time and Rangers will have to go back to the drawing board before the visit of Barnstaple Town next week
