Match reports sat 29th August
Marldon 4-1 Chagford reserves
A highly paced game with some good football played in the right spirit. After an even first 20 mins of both teams unable to break down the opposition to create a chance. Marldon took the lead when neil ford took a pot shot from 30 yards which found the bottom corner. then a freak offside decision/awful defensive line allowed chagfords young number nine (scarry?) through on goal and finished well placing the ball past me. marldon took the lead about ten minutes before half time when a quick break down the right and a good cross was headed in from close range by ant roach.
The second half was another even affair with little or no chances created. Marldon scoring twice from a great 35 yard strike in off the post from from daz stickley. and a composed penalty from roachy sending the keeper the wrong way after being fouled from behind.
A thank you to chagford for a good game of football and good luck with the rest of the season.

Re: Match reports sat 29th August
Thanks for the report but i have to disagree with you saying that we (Chags ) had a good game. All those in the Chags team agreed that that was the worst performance for some time. I have only been at the club for 2 seasons, this being the 2nd and i have to say we were poor. I do agree your goals were all very good and that i also thought that John Scarry was off side but we are always tought to play to the whistle and he did that very well. The third goal was a cracker and i dont thing he will hit a ball that sweet again for a while anyone would be proad of a strike like that, as would they for the 1st. Roachy again right place right time for the header but thought he had a quite game and should have had a yellow card for the Maradonna attempted header at the near post. Hope the lad who got injured as did our keeper is ok, Mat was a bit bruised but no broken bones although had to sit out of our pub team game on Sunday.
Hopefully will give you a better game at our place.
By the way thought you had a good comanding performace in goal yours was the only voice i could hear at times.

Re: Match reports sat 29th August
I agree with you about roachy being quiet. the problem is the tem dont play the ball to him... they hit it over him! which doesnt help him at all! I was very impressed with the organisation of your team before the match.. definitely looked the part. Daz is okay.. just bruising. was a big collision though, darren has to improve his pace, though it was good goalkeeping from your keeper who i was impressed with! I was quiet on saturday i thought! as i wasnt feeling too good. but thanks and good luck with the rest of the season!
