Dittisham 6 Bovey Tracey 3rds 1

Oosh welcome to league football, Result right although score was harsh on Bovey.
We were 1 down at halftime but on chances created should have been well infront.
If the 1st half the attackers didnt perform then the defending was abysmal 2nd half!
To be fair we did have quite a few players missing and only 1 proper sub, But we gave away a goal within 10 seconds of restart!
It did not help we had no defenders to replace injured Dave Blanchard either so he ended up giving away 2 goals
Before our young keeper got in on the act!
A really poor 2nd half after a 1st which showed so much promise.

We got it back to 2-1 at one stage through a Dave Steer header but in the end just did not show enough desire and ended up well beaten.
Looking forward to kicking Roachy at Marldon next week!

Ah bother! Im expecting another tough game next weekend even without Mr Roach playing. Hopefully Gimmo and Shiny back next week although looks like Blanchard will be out for a fair while. ,

Interesting results this weekend, alot i am sure due to the bank holiday and players being away or called upon to step up to support higher league sides. I know our game was effected by us losing 5 players this wkend and marldon losing 4 and only having 1 sub that saw them go down to 10 players in the second half.
I think you will have a good game against marldon next week steve espiecally if you are both back to full strength.

Thanks Chadz i see Langers notched for you, Should grab loads in this league, and Jay Palmer scoring a few aswell.
A couple of my mates played against Jackz at the weekend and apparently they are a good physical team so im thinking they will have a good shout of promotion to.
My young lads need to realise that the game is not over when you are only 2 behind with 35 minutes left!
Have a good season Chadz.

Marldon res 4 Bovey Tracey 3rds 1

Another despairing result for the 3rds but the first 2 games have at least opened myself and John's (managers) eyes,
Quite simple our squad isn't good enough to compete even at this level as no offence to Marldon but i can't see them exactly setting the division alight.

We went into this game knowing Blanchard,Vaughan,Thorne,Perring were all missing although Gimmo and Shiny returned.
However i woke up to a couple of texts from our centre half and deputy rightback pulling out of the squad!
To make matters worse i was in car at Asda in Newton having just got through all the traffic when i got the phone call to say our 16 year old keeper and fullback had been left behind in our football club merrily watching Charlton v Brentford! So i about turned and ended up putting a ticket on my car at clennon valley at 2.47 pm!!!

It was then confirmed we had no ref but sportingly a Marldon official stepped in,So thanks to him.

3 minutes after kick off not suprisingly we were trailing 2 nil!
The first 10 minutes from us were absolutely horrific but, to be fair we recovered well only for abysmal finishing to cost us for the 2nd consecutive week, although the chances we missed this week were a lot more clear cut.

Ironically the only shot we scored was blatant handball in the 20th minute, the goal scored by Isah.
Before halftime my through ball put young Armstrong in and he beat the keeper only for a defender to clear off the line while our striker Fell stood and watched,
As much as we looked the better passing side Marldon looked a threat everyime they knocked the ball over either of our fullbacks heads.

In the 2nd half we pressed really hard and Shiny had an effort somehow cleared off the line, then Gimson's powerful header from a corner hit the underside of the bar, Isah went clean through with just the keeper to beat but tried to meg him and ended up looking a fool, then Fell went clean through but unwisely decided to round the keeper who got a foot on him to stop a certain goal.
Shiny kept on firing in efforts but all marginally wide.

Then we got sucker punched after a move broke down and Hannaby-smith completed his trick.
The final comical moment of our day ended with our makeshift defender Blackmore clearing against a Marldon attacker and then seeing the richotet fly into the net!
Lots to come back but defenetley our squad on the whole not good enough to cope when there is a few missing.
Good job Roachy didn't play or he would have had 10!!!

Well done to Marldon you deserved it and many thanks to your ref.
