Bovey 3rds 3 Teign Village res 2

This first win by Bovey 3rds was rightly descibed by manager John Lilley as 'champagne on sh*t!'

Bovey stormed into a 3 goal lead through Dave Steer , Danny Cornish and a Mark Perring penalty. With Paul Gimson, and Steve Kemble returning to defence and goalkeeper Tom Exley back, Bovey had finally a solid defence to go with their creative attack. Kev Moyle was pushed into his favoured role of centre mid and obliged by creating 2 goals.

Howver i must say once again some of misses were incredelous! In fact very embarassing is the only way you can describe some of our open goal missed chances. These mainly fell to Steer and Isah. Without fabricating at all there are too many to mention on here without boring the pants off people!

In the 2nd half just as the week before Bovey deteriorated. 6 minutes in a grubbed freekick by Martin slipped through our keepers hands on the floor before young Perrings pass across his own penalty area was intercepted and scored by Mcmanus. With myself and fellow veteran Kev Moyle taken off at 3 up it left big Gimmo surrounded by a defence of 16 year olds, however even though our general play was poor, Village did not manage to trouble our young keeper again during the last 30 minutes.

In the last 10 minutes we created a few more chances and yet again poor finishing and the non awardment of a blatant penalty stopped us from increasing our lead.

Nice to get 3 points but, our shooting HAS to improve!
