Re: Devon Senior Cup
I'm not absolutely sure, but I think the Devon FA rule is that the only obligatory entry is with the Senior team in the Club. So I suspect Hele have opted out of the Senior Cup with their Ressies to concentrate on the League & SDL Competitions.
Or maybe they'll be having a light training session on those saturdays.
I've seen them training pre-season and I don't think I've seen a ball yet - but my goodness they'll be fit for the heavy pitches. He really is a believer in putting the work in to get the benefits later.
Are you feeling fit yet Gooders?

Re: Devon Senior Cup
Pre-season is mixed Gooders. We have had some tough matches against very decent opposition and the matches that were arranged against more modest opposition which would have been very tight have been the ones affected by weather and other cancellations. I would have liked a much busier schedule but the everybody seems to be in the same boat.
First team worked incredibly hard against 3 Premier Div teams with mixed success, but with some decent football played, so a lot of positives to come out of it. Ashburton look a very good side to me, particulalry at home.
Ressies have produced some excellent football too with a fair few changes to the squad, and got well organised against even tougher opposition and done really well. I reckon both sides will be fine and hopefully better.

Re: Devon Senior Cup
I'm told your boys looked very good coming forward against us Tony and our management were impressed and thankful for a good workout.
Best wishes Spurs - see you soon in the Prem.

Re: Devon Senior Cup
It's Devon Cup weekend again and, frankly, I'm a little frustrated about the off-hand way some other sides from other areas seem to treat the whole business, and how they manage to run aleague down there. I really looked forward to the non-regionalised format of the Senior Cup but.......
Last round away @ a Plymouth side - no confirmation, no information about pitches or directions, and no hospitality.
Our reward is another trip to the same area this weekend. Again no confirmation, no information about pitches, no directions, and I rang their secretary, who was insistent that "you are at home to us!" No, I said, we are at your pitch, "Yes that's what I said " You're at home to us!" Anyway, I eventually convinced him that I had read Plymouth City Council's website had declared all Plymouth pitches out of action this weekend. And I managed to discover their actual home pitch before I gave up & notified DCFA so they aren't expecting a result rung in!"

Re: Devon Senior Cup
Yes Ted. I'm thinking of requesting an independent review of the DCFA draws, and asking who wa s present representing the clubs.
12 out of 13 South area clubs drawn away in one round of a competition, We draw Plymouth YMCA away followed by Plymouth Trophyman away and in the 3rd round draw - Chard Utd or Elburton Villa away.
Sometime or other you'd think the law of averages must kick in!!
