Upton Athletic were formed in 1946 as a youth team and reached the south devon league premier division in 1960. Since then they have gone on to be one of the most successful clubs in south devon. The south devon league premier division has been won on 17 occasions.The leagues herald cup has been won a record 9 times and the devon premier cup has been won 3 times. The club prides itself in being the only south devon club to have won 5 trophys in one season, the sdl premier division,herald cup,beli cup,devon premier cup and charity shield.
