Kingskerswell & Chelston

Kingskerswell Football Club (Seniors) has been running for many years playing their football at Kingskerswell Playing Fields. For most seasons they have run a first team and also a reserve team in the South Devon League. The facilities at the Playing Fields include a pavilion, which consists of a bar, kitchen, toilets, changing rooms and showers. Kingskerswell Parish Council owns the pavilion as well as the pitches. A Bar Committee run the pavilion which consists of people from football and cricket clubs as well as members of the Parish Council. The Pavilion survives from money taken behind the bar plus subscriptions paid in by football and cricket teams per games played.
The Club have recently merged with Chelston Football Club for the start of the 2006 / 2007 season. We are now known as Kingskerswell and Chelston Football Club. This means we now run three teams in the South Devon League. The first team play at Armada Park, which was Chelston Football Club’s home pitch, which is owned by Torbay Council. The second and third teams still play their games at Kingskerswell Playing Fields. We now have approximately sixty players signed on with the club, about seventy five percent being eighteen years and under. The 1st season as
Kingskerswell & Chelston the 1st team managed to gain promotion to the Premier League after finishing runners up in Division 1 The reserves and 3rds both had a steady stable season and built a solid base to build on.
The main reason for the younger age of the players is the success of Kingskerswell Colts which we now use as a feeder club to the senior sides. The 2006 / 2007 season is the first year we have managed to bring through so many youth players at one time from our under sixteen side from last year. The future of the club looks very good as we now have a full set of youth sides from under nines to under sixteens.
