Newton Town fc

The modern version of the club was formed in 1981, originally the home ground was coach road, then Denbury Playing fields until last season when the club moved back into Newton Abbot and now play on Decoy Park & Coach road. The seniors were in the SDL for many years until 2005 when the club took the decision to switch leagues and go to the D&E league.
presently the club has U7s, U8s, U9s, U10s,U11s, U12s girls U15s girls, 2 x U14s boys teams & an adults Ability team as well as the senior mens. There is also a training session based at Broadmeadow sports centre on saturday mornings for 7-11yr olds
In 2000 we were the first club to be presented with the FA Charter Standard award in Devon and achieved Community Club status in 2003.
Awards include best FA charter standard community club, Devon Sports Personality of the year, FA football workforce award-national winner.
It seems a tradition that the U11s win their league every year!
Annual 7-a-side team Newton Spartans made up of ex & current club players since 1998
With the introduction of girls football in 2004 the club helped set up the girls league and now have a adults with learning disabilities team in the South West Regional ability counts league.
The club has just applied to the FA to become an `Ability Counts ` Club and conitues to invest in FA qualified coaches to raise the standard of coaching in the area. The club currently has 9 FA qualified coaches running teams.
1999/2000 Bill Treeby Cup runners up
