kkc v hookhills kkc missing three influential players set out to frustrate a youthful hookhills side. played one up front and tried to contain i dont think we would have scored if we had played all night. managed to hold on for 70 mins with devons no1 having a great game until he got injured in a fair tackle which ended up with him breaking a finger and spraining his wrist should have taken him off there and then but this injury prevented him from saving the shot which resulted in the opening goal.then we had to substitute him and the centerhalf went in goal, and hookhills took full advantage pushed three up front and wrapped up the game 5 mins later. well played hookhills throughly deserved to win and the sportsmanship in which you clapped our young keeper off was a credit to your team. certainly makes the race for promotion interesting.

Stoke 7 - 2 Abbotskerswell

Our striker scored one of the quickest hattricks ive ever seen. We were 3-0 up within 10 mins, 4 within 15 mins. Ripped them apart in the first half and took the foot off the gas in the 2nd to change around formation, rest our strikers etc. We could of scored about 15 in the end.

Abbots didnt give up though and fair play had to change their keeper twice through injury!! Bring on Loddiswell next week thats what i say!! We want a 5th or 6th finish now.

Title race is hotting up!! We've got Fleming, Teignmouth, then Stavy all away all in a row!! Will be nice and easy??????

Geoff,

Why try to cause issues ? got nothing better to do ?

we know who we have to play, and what we need to do, we have 15 regular players, we dont use first team players unless no other option, first team had no game sat, we used NO first team players, we have had 2 x first team players on 1 occasion and they were both subs, and i brought them on when we were 5-0 up, as i wanted to give them a run,(20 mins) as they did come and sit on the bench for me, we go up or we dont go up with the squad we have, after 26 games we will know if over the season if we are good enough, we will be judged as a reserve team with reserve team players, as they are the guys i need to use week in week out, i will not get promoted by using first team players when they have no game, or the 3 peninsular players we have signed on as cover, as i will stand by the guys who give me 200% week in week out, we know how good Teignmouth Reserves, Stoke Fleming Hookhills k&c 3rds and Babbacome Corries are,

we have had to use 4 over 40's earlier in the season due to injuries, but we got on with it, now we have signed on some very good players, and we have a good squad of 15, and next year we may be able to get in a couple more who knows,
If we win the league or cup or both, or get promoted, i will at least know it was done with my regular squad, and i can be happy that i did the best with the best available to me on a week by week basis, if not the, we need to improve next season, as this is our first year in Div 4, we only joined the SDFA 3 years ago with a very young squad, 3 promotions in a row, 1 cup final win, not bad for a reserve side, with a regular reserve team squad, our first team keep their 15/16 players an rotate them well, we dont mix the squads, they have theirs we have ours, that is just the way it is, we do give them the odd player to help out, i am lucky i always have 14/15 available every week

i dont like comming on to the forum to defend my reasons, as ive stated above we will see after 26 games, and i am happy with that,

please dont keep on about us "with the big three" i know how hard it will be, they are quality sides, and its going to be a challange, but we are up for it, and the next 6 to 7 weeks will have many challanges
thank you Simon

I say these things not so much for your benefit Simon....more for a few of your players who have done exactly the same thing.

It could also be seen as banter and i don't think i have ever shown intended rudeness or posted in a derogatory manner about Stavvy.

What you say about your team and use of players is commendable and i hope this ideology serves you well.

To have loyalty to the players that have got you to top of the league and a heavy lead is not such a headache though and shows the standard of the players you have!

We may have to play a first teamer or two towards the end of the season but this is to do with a lack of players (we had one sub on Saturday) and we haven't had a proper goalkeeper for the last seven games (and even our left back who deputised was taken by the first team for two games!)

With these reasons in mind we will of course show every loyalty to our reserves but we will have to use a first teamer here and there depending on who is made available.

Keep smiling and good luck Simon.

I don't think the Stavvy players have been on here bragging at any point in the season. Feel free to dig out some posts to back this up! I know there has been the odd poster coming on trying to wind you up (not that difficult!) but that's different.

We know the league will be won or lost on the remaining fixtures against the top sides (and I know you keep bringing it up to try and add some pressure!)...at the moment, we're still in the box seat- the title is in our hands as long as we keep winning. I hope that when it comes to the crunch matches we will do the business (and I remain confident that we will). However- win, lose or draw we will remain a sporting club- as we have been all season- whether we're playing Teignmouth or anyone else.

Yep you are most definitely in the box seat and as you say if you win a percentage of your remaining games you will win the league deservedly as a team who has scored lots of goals and had a tight defence!

I will keep bringing the issue of your record up if you lose points again against Hookhills or Stoke but come on, i'm not playing with much else as you guys have been relentless and havent shown a chink of culpability up until a few weeks ago.

Maybe i have cast a few seeds of doubt into your teams heads, but knowing Simon i think this will not be the case and you will just carry on doing what you do best.

Good luck lads, its been a great pleasure playing in Division 4 this season, this has been made better by the craic i've had on here...good banter!

See you soon...i hope we're maybe a few points closer when we finally meet!
