ah sounds good buddy, wish u well and thats a great attitude. dont get me started on john james he aint got a scooby doo, bk wen i was playing in the djm leagues it was rare to see an argyle scout, i know its much better now but then realisticly as a club how many young players have made the grade in the last 8 years, not enough, and thats not down to the standard of the junior leagues cus down here we have some of the best.

Mr Ewens

Who did you play for in the Midland Combination ?

mostly it was the combination res league i played which was made up of midland alliance, combination and dr martens res sides.

I had a brief spell at solihull borough in 2001 when dave buust ( ex coventry ) was 1st team manager and guy russell ( ex birmingham ) was the reserve boss, before that i played for kings norton in the birmingham afa league,

Hmmm Kings Norton , Thats the Pitch thats up above the car park and Changing rooms isn't it and you walk around the outside to get onto the Pitch..?.. if it is then i've played there many times.

I'm only asking because i spent most of my younger days playing in the Midland Comb for Coleshill Town , Mile Oak , and Romulus when i was 18 - 24( brummy through and through ) and i saw what you wrote about the facilites up in the Midlands and i agree with what you said about it being a different class up there. Even the Lower leagues have amazing grounds.

ah fair play man, coleshill are quality now, u probs played against highgate utd then, for kings norton we didnt play in kings norton itself we played at tidbury green next to highgate utd ground, just outside shirley, its owned by dave buust father where a sunday team have the rights, the lil clubhouse was on the right as you came into the car park, theres two pitches there, wont ever forget that place i watched david beckham get the vital equalising free kick against greece to qualify for the world cup quite drunk on cider, the pitch was tiny. i know in that area alone you also hav shirley town just 500 yards up the road, whom having went bust 9 years ago are back in the combination, there pitch is awesome, i used to try get away with practising on it but they got nasty guard dogs on the site patrolling. highgate utd setup is brilliant now. loved it up there met so many good footballing folk, very regretful leaving there.
