Re: ARGH! Flaming weather!
Ya. Cause you know, global warming doesn't exist or anything.
Seriously, I hear you. The weather's ****ed up, it makes us ****ed up, it makes the plants and animals ****ed up...
Well, I hope you feel better, Corvus. But ya, at least we weren't hit by those tornadoes... :/

Re: ARGH! Flaming weather!
Oof!
That reminds me of last winter... I was on prednisolone for my hands/wrists. And unlike most people, it made me *really* lethargic. Well, it was the week of a big fencing meet, and I had a cold to boot. We traveled like...eight hours to Notre Dame for this meet and would fence first thing in the morning. Well, the next morning I was okay until I got to the "gym" (the fencing matches were held in the same building as their hockey rink--which means it was COLD). I was putting on my shoes, pulling my knickers up to my knees so I could get the uber-long socks in place, and what did I notice?
My skin was solid blue-purple. Like the color of dead bodies in the morgue. And it was cold, too. My fencing captain, who briefly looked over at me to see if I was almost ready nearly fell over. I managed to get myself to the bathroom and confirmed that my entire body, below my heart-line, was that solid corpse color. And yet I still had to fence. I was really not feeling too bad. Just really freaking cold and really freaking tired.
I don't really know what happened. After the end of the day we went back to our hotel and I soaked in extremely hot water for 45 minutes. In that time my skin normalized. My only guess is that my nervous system was so depressed from both the cold and the steroid (because things work oddly with me) that it couldn't keep my lower body heated in the cold gym.
Anyway. I'm REALLY glad you're feeling better. Go get some Gatorade and drink that for a while. (I hate the stuff myself, but it does work well to bring your body's fluids up to count quick. Then you can go back to good plain'ol water.)

Re: ARGH! Flaming weather!
Dang, folks...that sounds awful. Gratefully, I haven't been that ill in a long time. UGH.
Glad to hear you're feeling better.
Thora...wtf?
Seriously, woman...I've never seen that in my life. I'd crap if I saw that. Sheesh. I am happy you came through.
