Emulators

Yesterday I tried out the Commodore 64 Emulator and got it working. Though I still need to read up more about the emulator since it takes a bit of time to switch disks and figuring out the proper way to save games/i.e. make a save game. Still it was a blast to see the old C64 graphics and sound.

Mostly I use the DOS emulator (DOSbox) with a front end (D-Fend Reloaded) which simplifies things a bit.

Sometimes I use AppleWin which works great too, for when I'm feeling in a mood to play some old Apple IIe games.

+ there's also an Amiga emulator which I believe you need to purchase ROM's for in order to get it working (or at least you did when I tried it out a while back)

Anyone tried any of these emulators? + if so what do you think about them?

I haven't tryed any, it it sounds like you know what you are talking about. You go to all this trouble just to see old computer graphics and gameplay. Wow, amazing!

Re: Emulators

Emulators are great because I can go back and play all the games that I played as a kid. Lots of fun memories. + the games are still a allot of fun to play. Sure the graphics aren't up to todays standards but they are still great. Here is one of my favorites. I recorded this with the DOS emulator DOSbox Gateway to the Savage Frontier

Here's one from the C64 emulator CCS64 Ninja

Also my avatar was taken from the DOS emulator and my signature pic of the bartender was taken with the Apple IIe emulator.

Re: Emulators

Nice videos of you playing those old games.
It is pretty hard to understand what the object is in the game. But that is like the same in any game these days!
