Where do I start?
Hi all!
My name is Lauren, but I go by Ephyra (online at any rate). I have never LARPed a day in my life, but I've always thought it looked like fun. I'm a junior at UPenn, so I think I'm close enough to participate. Any advice on where to start for a prospective new player?

Read the rulebook. Itll be a huge help. then make it out to a battle. nothibng can describe the game better than simply watching it.

What Frothgar said is good beginning. I would also suggest that you also look at all the current active units in Taurendor and see which one interests you the most and attend one of their practices by contacting a unit leader for info. I am the unit leader of the paladins of Millennia and we are definately recruiting. However, maybe the orc unit of Ur Kildar is more your style or the barbarians of Rogin or the knights/rangers of the Order of Tauren or the dark soldiers and drow of Mordarth or the late Roman mercenaries of Gladi Valaris or the fighters of the Wikked tribe which have a newly married chieftian and chieftianess. You are certainly to welcome to try a practice with us. I have loads of garb, over 45 weapons, 8 shields and 8 armor sets and one helmet, not to even mention javlins and rocks. Dodinell and I also hold weapon making sessions if you want to go ahead and make your own weapons.

Hello Ephyra,
I am Zadrian, the current magistrate of Taurendor. Basically, at the next battle, I will be giving a run-down of the rules to any new fighters. Please get in contact with me, I will post my number and e-mail at the bottom of the post. Also, feel free to pm me your e-mail address so that I can provide you with the correct resources you would need to get started =) Otherwise, just come out to battles and practices and you should be dandy.

Artorous, I was a varsity javelin thrower in high school so I may have to take you up on the Paladins of Millenia!
