Re: Millennia Paladins of Taurendor
Announcing 6 new recruits for the paladins:
Thanks for coming out AJ, Drew, TJ, Kyle and Jeff and John who we met at the park. I hope to see some of you fighters at the next battle. Enjoyed the practice and barbecue with you guys. Hope you make it out to the game and hobby club on the 15th of August. I may schedule one more paladin recruiting practice before the next battle on the 22nd to go over rules and basic techniques with the two newest guys. AJ, pump me some more info about your LARP group. Also Rathe, if you read this, we were there till at least 7 pm. I had connection troubles when I tried to respond to your email. If you have some time tomorrow, I could do a one-on-one with you on rules, making weapons, and a little technique practice. Call me 215-421-3578

Re: Millennia Paladins of Taurendor
Paladins of Millennia and new recruits,
Due to a run in with the former leader of another unit I will not be leading the paladins for the months of Sept., Oct., Nov., and Dec. My friend and pastor, Dodinell (kevin), has agreed to run the unit for those 4 months. Kevin has more natural leadership ability than me, makes better weapons, and is just as good a fighter. He has about a dozen weapons himself, plus 2 shields and armor, and helmet, so that will make our arsenal pushing close to 60 weapons, 10 shields, and 9 armor suits, and two helmets, not to mention rocks and javlins. I will continue to run practice for the paladins and recruit, but will not be attending the next 4 battles or representing the unit at council meetings. I would like to attend the Martinmas Taurendor feast in Nov. at my church as Kevin had asked me to do a short dramatization on the life of St. Martin of Tours who was a Roman legion soldier before becoming a missionary and church planter among the Franks in the dark ages. I use to work professionally for a drama agency for a while back in 2001.

Re: Millennia Paladins of Taurendor
If it is a sanctioned Taurendor event you may not attend. Kevin is a much better fighter than you BTW.
--- But on his breast a bloody Cross he bore
The dear remembrance of his dying Lord,
For whose sweet sake that glorious badge we wore
And dead (as living) ever he adored.

Most of the time that Dodinel and I have dualed I have beaten him. However, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and Kevin and I are friends.

Re: Millennia Paladins of Taurendor
Owen,
I would like special permission to attend the Martinmas Dagorhir Feast at my church as I am scheduled to do a short dramatization as previously mentioned. I have been doing more research on him, and he was actually a late Roman who lived before the dark ages and served in the Roman legions under Julian the Apostate. He lived in the 4th century AD before the fall of Rome in the West. He became a monastic Bishop of Tours in France later and performed many miracles. He opposed the public execution of heretics by the state. He was very charitable to the poor and had many spiritual dreams and visions too. He became an example of celebitory clergy. He once gave half his cloak to a poor man and had a vision later of Jesus wearing the half cloak and saying, "What you have done to the least of these of my brethren, you have done to me." The latin word for cloak, capulla, is where the word chapel and chaplain originated from as Martin built a small hermit hut to live in next to the cathedral he was bishop of and he contrasted the oppulance of some of the other bishops of the day and became a role model for bishops in the coming dark ages.

Re: Millennia Paladins of Taurendor
Some good news!
Again, Dodinel will be the unit leader for the paladins for the next 4 months. I will run a practice once a month and supply weapons, armor, shields, etc. In fact I am finishing up a barrel shield to add to the combined armory of over 60 weapons, 10 shields, 9 armor suits, and 2 helmets.
Nathan, Tycho, of Gladii Valaris said all the new and a few old paladins can fight with his unit, Gladii Valoris, at the next battle 9/5. I know AJ, Sanchi, Robert, Nate, and Mileek have already met Nathan. AJ, if you could swing by my place to pick up weapons that would be great. TJ and his little brother Kyle will hopefully be able to join you guys as well and Lauren and her little brother maybe.
