First attempt at a Dag weapon, my khukuri
Here is my first attempt at making a Dag weapon. I decided to try making a khukuri.
I still need to wrap the grip with rope, cover the hilt with athletic tape and make a fabric cover for the foam "blade". What do you think so far?
Oh, in case you were wondering, this is 24" long from hilt to the end of the blade and the blade is about 16" long. I also counter weighted the hilt to give it more maneuverability.

Looks good man. Remember to put a piece of duct tape on the non striking edge of the blade when you make the cover!

Looks cool! If you want to help it last longer, put some athletic tape on the seams of those foam layers on the side of the weapon.

Oh man how I miss that weapon. This was before the weight requirements...damn thing was maybe 8 ounces, curved PVC handle, fast as lightning.
Broke it during pick-up battles I joined Sunday night at my second Ragnarok. First swing, took a guy's leg, and the PVC snapped right in half.

I finished up my khukuri and made a dagger with a stabby tip too.
For the cloth covering I used a thick sock and some black hockey tape to secure it and the pommel. The grip is rope wrapped.
The next weapon I'm making is a blue sword or a Viking axe, not sure which.

Were you out at the last battle? Not sure if I have met you, or not? If not, the next battle is April 11th, if i remember correctly.

Actually no, never been to any battles yet. April 11th will be my first but I'll definitely be there.
