Revised and Updated History of the Paladins of Millennia Part I
I recently revised and updated the History of the Paladins with a little feedback from Dodinel. It covers the history of Taurendor, but from a paladin perspective of course. I had to submit this in parts to fit the 10000 character limit. Enjoy!

THE HISTORY OF THE PALADINS
-According To-
Sagi the Magi
Scribe and Archive Keeper of the Western Isles of Avalon
Shortly after the creation of the world of Dagorhir and Belegarth, the land was divided by war and politics, and then a catastrophe. Among the new lands that emerged was the land and realm of Taurendor or “Eastern Forest” as ordained and predestined. In the darker days of Taurendor, the One, the Prime Mover and Creator sent the first paladins to the newly born realm after the invasion of a large army from the realm of Aratari. A powerful invading force of Gestiguiste under the leadership of brother Henry, and later general Ericos, appeared on the sylvan shores of Taurendor. The black knights of Aratari either came to make war and conquer, or explore and aid the fledgling realm of Taurendor. The motives of the heart always remain hidden, except to the One, until made manifest in words and deeds. At that time Taurendor was more of a colony of Aratari than a realm of its own with its own kingdoms. It was a good and rich land with sylvan forests and dales and gray misty mountains.
In fact only one, short-lived kingdom had arisen by that time, after the earlier elven age of Taurendor. It was the kingdom of the mercenary soldiers of Sukinar led by Talon and Loin. Prior to the Sukinarians, a band of brigands, known as the Dogs of War dominated the landscape briefly after the elven wars had long since ended and the elves of light, or the high elves, had departed for the undying lands of the west. The Dogs of War were quickly absorbed into Sukinar. Some time later, grey or mountain elves and even a few green wood and sylvan elves followed into the west across the great waters. Before that, the first to resettle Taurendor, after its abandonment to the dark elves, was an army of Samurai warriors under the leadership of Takezou. They shortly and mysteriously disappeared before the Dogs of War appeared in their stockade and wooden battlements. Many years later, an armor maker of the Samurai clan by the name of Ogunshi and his concubine Cheekapoo passed through the realm of Taurendor and it was rumored that Takezou would revisit some day.
However, in the elven age, the dark elves that ruled Taurendor, were forbidden to sail to the eternal realms of the Creator for they rebelled against the high king of the high elves. The elves were made of five races: the white, grey, green, brown, and black elves. The high king of elven kind ruled all five races united for a time established and ordained by the almighty Creator of the world of Dagorhir. Yet, while the faithful elves of light settled into the glories of the western undying lands, another eternal realm far more the glorious belonged to the Lord above in the heavens in the invisible realm to which all faithful paladins go.
All the elven races experienced a falling out and division among their ranks. So that the dark elves were made from all five elven races as civil war broke out. The black elves became known as night elves, the brown elves as wild elves, the green as wood or sylvan elves, the grey as mountain elves, and the white as snow elves.
The dark elves dug out kingdoms for themselves in the hidden underground dark lands of Taurendor where the sun and moon and star light never shine. The only light in that darkness was fire and the radiating light crystals that had some evil twisting and mutating magic to them. There were lesser lights from phosphorous plants and lichen, slime, and subterranean mosses and algae. The dark elves found many foul creatures below such as dragons and trolls. Of course there were some good dragons and kind giants on the surface lands. The drow, as the dark elves were later called, would also take captive later generations of elves of light and other creatures from the surface down into the distorting, shape-changing magic of the glowing crystals. Hence came ogres, orcs, goblins, hob-goblins, zombies, barrow-wights, ghosts, specters, werewolves and vampires into the dark world that would at times invade the surface world of the tree ents, dryads and other sylvan wood folk, and elves of light. The dark elves and elves of light had elven immortality.
The dark elves damaged one of the two trees of life in Taurendor. The power in the trees was the source and symbol of immortality and eternal life to all enchanted creatures that lived in the land such as the elves and ents. The other twin tree of life the night elves took underground to transplant in the center of their underground capital known as the City of Utter Darkness. It is rumored the city is even ruled by demon lords from the hells underneath the terra crust resting on subterranean seas of molten magma. The demon lords, it is believed by some, were the source of the turning of many of the high elves to darkness and existence without love or joy in their hearts, but only greed, vileness, lust, hate, selfishness, bitterness, malice, and insane jealousy and envy. They were like creatures desperate for any pleasure they could find, beg, borrow, or steal before the final doom of the One would overtake them. They knew not how to truly ask for grace or mercy or pardon, neither did they seek it.
The first paladins came from Westmost Avalon from across the Taurendorian Ocean. Their paladin isles stood before the undying lands of the eternal realms of Dagorhir and Belegarth in both the visible and invisible worlds. Crossing the Taurendorian Ocean was a very long and dangerous venture, because it was patrolled by the Leviathan that once hoarded the remaining tree of life on the surface of Taurendor. The beast defeated the tree ent guardians with its fiery breath. An alliance of elves of light later drove the monstrous beast away many ages past. Its hatred for the elves of Taurendor and efforts to destroy them and all who attempt to journey to the undying lands is fierce and legendary.
Only the swift and blessed ships of the paladins of the Isles of Westmost Avalon can escape the fire breathing lord of the ocean with its scales the size of Aratari Roman shields and its length that of over 600 feet. Its six arm and leg fins each have six claws so that it can crawl up upon land, and the creature has both gills and lungs. The number of the beast is therefore 666 and the greatest demon lord of the underworld, whose name is cursed and unmentionable, will at times enter into it and take possession of its earthly power. Triangular plates of adamanite trail down its neck, back, and tail and its teeth are pointed like diamonds--sharp, piercing, and all together crushing. Even a few of the divinely empowered paladin ships have failed to make the hazardous voyage across the dread sea monster’s watch.
The first swan ships of Avalon came under my command, that of the Sagi the Magi, the high elf. White and blue were the colors of our banners and the adornment of our sacred warriors. We befriended the remnants of the grey or mountain elves first. They had grey eyes and skin tone. Their hair was silver. The hair of the white or snow elves was gold or white and their eyes blue. Their skin was like pearl. Many of the grey elves had departed for the undying lands and few were left from the wars with the dark elves. The elf king and queen of the grey elves had silver eyes. The black elves were dark of hair, skin, and eyes, although some had eyes of amber that glowed in the dark like cat’s eyes. The king and queen of the black elves had gold eyes. And, as one might guess, the green elf king and queen had fluorescent green eyes. The green elves had various shades of brown for hair such as ash and chestnut. The brown or wild elves had tan to brown skin, hair, and eyes. The colors of their king and queen were very dark browns. The king and queen of the underground dark elves had compelling and seducing violet eyes. The compelling power of purple as it first appeared.
The paladins came at first to help protect the Taurendorians from a possible invasion and conquest by the south-western land of Aratari separated from Taurendor by the Southron Sea. In the beginning all lands were joint and there was a supercontinent known as the garden of the Lord Most High. However, when evil entered the land, it split into the lands of Dagorhir (land of the battle lords) in the east and Belegarth in west way before crossing the ocean and reaching Westmost Avalon and the undying lands in the far west. The Almighty released great floods, earthquakes, volcanoes, tidal waves, storms, and underground fountains and aquifers into the world. The King of the Universe judged Terra, as the garden of the Lord was also called, broke up the land and divided and separated the children of the One who fought amongst themselves.
Even further back, a greater fall took place when the demon lords, who were once angels and celestials, had abandoned the heavenly realm and rebelled and gave themselves over to selfishness and tyranny and violence and wicked pride and malice. They dwelt under the land, but at times came up on the surface land and even into the eternal realms and the heavens.
