Charlie and Wendy I appreciate you standing up for our rights as members to vote. I personally don't want to keep that close of an eye on the TBA. Tony is going to let me know what issues are on the table and how he feels about them. I know he is going to take into consideration what is best for the sport of bowfishing and protect our regional rights. Therefore I would rather him do the voting on TBA issues for the most part. I do however like the idea of letting the membership voice their opinions on certain issues such as the State Shoot location.

Re: TBA Bylaws Discussion
Charlie,
What types of things do you think should be voted on by members....and what should be voted on by the Directors?
How do we determine who votes on what?....Do we vote on it?...

Re: TBA Bylaws Discussion
Since it would be difficult to draw the line on who and what needs to be voted on, I would like to see the members vote or cast their opinions on all issues and the directors can monitor the results to cast their votes. I assume the directors would listen to the majority. I think there should be a special section on the website for members only to do this. This section would be controlled by a username and password for current members.

Re: TBA Bylaws Discussion
IMO... I would love to see the members vote on everything of substance in this organization. This would include things such as disposition of sanctioned shoots, location of state shoot, rules changes, points system, position statements regarding TP&W rules proposals etc.
However, with such a large and diverse organization, the likely hood of ever getting a majority of members to actually vote on an issue, much less getting a real majority of voting members (51% of registered members) is almost impossible. This leads me to believe that the only way to accomplish any thing will be to allow the directors (with input from the membership) to make decisions on all matters.
As evidence of this, look at the number of members that have expressed an opinion on this site since the "New" TBA was announced. There are some where around 250 members yet only about 5-6 are actually participating in discussions! How could we EVER expect to have 126+ members respond with a positive vote on ANY issue??
I do not necessarily like this situation, but I believe it is the only way to get any thing accomplished.

Re: TBA Bylaws Discussion
If there are members that do not wish to be active members and let us know their wishes then they should not be the ones complaining.
It is not difficult to cast a vote.

NO Chuck, you have a right to your opinion just like everyone. Your opinions and everyone's are appreciated.
Don't think everyone is out to get you.
