The Wall Phone
The Wall Phone
classification: paulian
(behind the scenes image contributed by Jess, brightness and contrast adjusted to show detail)
The Wall Phone is visible throughout the miniseries whenever Room 10 is shown. It is a typical black wall phone with the handset hanging on the side and an extra long cord hanging from the bottom.
The powers of The Wall Phone, if they exist, are completely unknown. Most collectors consider The Wall Phone to be an object simply because it is a distinct modular component of the room.
Useful eBay search terms:
rotary wall phone
rotary wall telephone
vintage wall phone
vintage wall telephone
The Wall Phone is not difficult to find. Be careful to match every detail. It does not have a silver button below the dial, the handset is hanging on the side, and the extra long cord is hanging from the right of the bottom.
Some collectors like to add this dial sticker made by Chucklbunny. This is a matter of personal taste. It is apparent from the second image above that The Wall Phone does not have a sticker:

Re: The Wall Phone
Does anyone know the make and model of the phone? It appears that it might be an Automatic Electric model 90. The AE 90 was a competitor to the very popular Western Electric 554. We had one in our house growing up. Many people have never heard of AE because they were sucked up by GTE.
