The Comic-Con 2008 Chris & Laura interview

Well since I'm on my iPhone right now I'll keep this first part short.

Chris and Laura are awesome people in person and when there talking to a fan like me it is very easy for them to keep a conversation going. Weather it's about questions about the show to how frustrated we are that Sci-fi didn't pick it up. I wish I would have had a video camera or a tape recorder.

I know I might not remember everything we talked about but I will try my best. However there are some things that were said that I'm going to have to ask Chris if they are ok to say. Because at first Chris was treating me like he was in an interview but later when we talked it was more like two friends talking about a story they both liked.

So I will post soon what I have permistion to post

But it was so awsome ^_^

Well, that's one thing everyone connected with TLR has in common.

I await with bated breath.

Re: The Comic-Con 2008 Chris & Laura interview

Me, Chris, and Laura all met up at Comic-Con on Thursday at Comic-Con. I was at first a little nervous about the meet up, because neither me nor Chris really knew what one another looked like. But when we met up Laura was wearing a TRL T-Shirt and Chris was wearing a plain gray shirt. We shook hands and said hello but quickly got into conversation about “The Lost Room”. I first had to praise him on his great awesome work and that we all enjoyed it and it was an honor to meet him in person and was uber cool he was doing it.

After praising his work we talked about objects from the room and how cool the concept of everything was. And how perfect the era was for the objects. I took this time to state “It would be awesome if when you open ‘The Bible’ it caused it to rain in China.” And Laura instantly shot up and said “that’s actually very similar to an object that we have created. But that sounds like a cool idea we should ad that to our list” I had to obviously try to inquire about this thought and said “I figured the reason why there is dormant objects out there is because there must be an effect that is maybe out of the users field of perception” and Chris replied “Yes there are some objects that have effects that are far away. Like it could be when you use a particular object it makes the closest water source bubble.” I remarked “That’s cool that there are objects like that”. The conversation continued and I popped the question “If and when a series is continued where were you thinking of picking up the story?” Chris looked at Laura and asked her if she thinks its ok to tell she nods and Chris replies “We were going to pick up the story with the next person that picks up the key. And the story was going to be following them” I remarked “oh really? Are you going to go into any back story at all or will it just be all present situations” Chris and Laura replied “ Well we feel that there will have to be some time were we will have to explain the Cabal wars and some more history” I thought it would be nice to get some history and asked about the occupant and would they like to go into what happened with him when he got out of the motel. And they said “Well the occupant is not all knowing but dose know quite a bit” and I inserted “well he had the opportunities to find out what some objects did without effecting himself” and they replied “yes so he knows quite a bit about the objects but not even he knows everything” feeling the conversation avoiding the immediate time that the occupant got out of the motel I asked about the 1962 Almanac. And my question was being subtly avoided. I think Chris and Laura have some plans and there is some secrets in that but nothing was given away. Well next we went into any news about continuing “The Lost Room” series and Laura said “Well we have been really busy working on projects, we have some comic books we are trying to get out that me and Chris are working on, but we are trying to see if we can get a comic book series for the lost room out for everyone. We are here to actually find some publishers to publish our other comic series we already have all the colorist, inkers, and others for those series we just need a publisher” and Chris says “We are hoping that once we get some of this work out of the way we might be able to work on a The lost Room Comic.” I asked “were you thinking about doing a novel or what is up with that. Laura Replied “Well we have been just so busy that I don’t think we could get together and write a whole novel any time soon, so to get something out sooner we realized we could do that quicker with a comic book series.” Chris Added “We would like to do whatever we can and believe LionsGate will let us Work on this as a comic since we are doing all the publishing. We would really like to get something out for you all. And I don’t really prefer a book over a comic or reverse. I feel it would be nice to do what we can to get something out for you all.”

The conversation went on to how rating systems went on at the Sci-fi Channel and how crap-tastic it is. And how British count towards the ratings of people who record everything or watch it in 15 minutes intervals. And how here in America we don’t and it sucks. But you all know about that who thing how Sci-fi has Wrestling on a Sci-fi channel. (*very angered inside, but so is Chris lol). We went onto people collecting props as fans and he stated that he had the key and some pens. When I heard Chris had one of te key’s I flipped out. But I asked him if I could get a scan and picture of any of the original props that they have between Chris, Paul, And Laura. And I think we talked about some other stuff after that but Chris and Laura had to get onto other things and basically back to work.

Me and Chris Met also on Friday but I will post that discussion later and it was shorted but let me know if you guys think my writing is ok and what not. ^_^

that's some wicked stuff. I always thought what their view on distance of a powers effect would be. I'm glad they didn't restrict it but I'm not surprised, it would have felt contradictory if they did.

"some" is the word that makes me the happiest. thank you chris and laura for talking about this to ghinius.
and thank you ghinius for passing it along.

I am not home but once I am I'll type the rest. But I did ask about the shirt and unfortunantly it was just something that was sent to them... And no more. But maybe we the collectors should come out with a tshirt.

I'll get back to you all in a couple hours
