The Lost Room Video Game Mods
Hello all. I know some of you might have heard of this project before but i would like to post some updates for you all. So i can keep everyone updated in a good formated manner. My first Project is called "The Elder Scrolls 4: The Lost Room of Oblivion
Discription;
This Is a modification (or known as a "Mod" for short) to a the RPG (Role Playing Game) known as "The Elder Scrolls " series. The Idea of the Mod is to allow the player to experience the normal oblvion story line and game play but with "The Lost Room" integrated into the universe. When the Mod is installed The player should stumble across a shop keeper that knows about the objects or a person with an object. Once the player runs across at least one object it will unlock many new story progressions, within multiple Guilds, Towns, and Unlock unseen territories to the Oblivion world.
The objects are going to try to be as balanced as possible both to what "The Lost Room" series dictates and to what the oblivion game allows and works with. Some Objects Will have to be hunted down, others might be in abandoned ruins. many have sought to collect all the objects but all have died or gone insane in the pursuit of this goal.
Progress;
15% Complete on the First stage of the Mod

Please everyone tell me what you would think would be cool to have in the game
and anything is valid anything like the shoe horn makes something other then those tomato things.
Haha
Oh and i updated the look and format of the posts let me know what you think or if i should put some more or different information in the posts you can e-mail or post here whatever is easier
oh and i am going to have a section once i make it for clickable links to design documents and feature lists. and i think i might try to make a Synopsis and a description two separate things.

Re: The Lost Room Video Game Mods
To be honest, I think most important in a game is gameplay. Having an existing game to build on is a good start. But you also need storylines, dialogs, etc. which are hard to make interesting.
The 3D models and other graphics already look great. I suggest creating a small storyline to not only use your models with, but also as a test case for different mods and games to see how well it works. For instance, if you let an Object have a power in one game, it should also be possible in another. You have a start there already:
quote: You the player will take on the role of finding new objects and making allies. While trying just to grasp what has happened to the world you thought was steady and normal. You will have to hunt down objects but be weary of there owners and the objects powers, the task will never be easy. And as you are trying to track down objects people will be wanting to get yours as well so always watch your back.
and lets just say you might run into the key and become the new motel man. ^_^
From your text come some natural questions:
1) What happened to the world?
2) Which Objects need to be hunted down?
3) What are their powers?
4) Which Object or Objects does the player have?
5) It's power..?
6) Who will be chasing you down?
7) How do you end the story?
Answer these and you have your story.

Re: The Lost Room Video Game Mods
Is this going to be a totally original new story or a perfect mimic of the series?

Re: The Lost Room Video Game Mods
<"Rollerball">
for your first question;
No no plans as of right now mostly because i heard it is hard to modify HL2 without some serious experience. and i don't have that and don't have anyone who knows how. However i would like to someday.
And for your second;
Well i thought of mimicking the series, because there is potential in that as a Mod in its self. but i thought of a new story would suit this mod the best. Because i have been talking with chris and some new objects that have powers have been talked about. and i already had the script written because i was working on a Fan Film with my friends but they all moved away before i could finish filming.
<"peerkoel">
yes i have already thought of all of those things. As i said to Rollerball i had already written up the script and have figured out most of the adaptions for this to a video game.
I have figured them all out but i don't want to give too much away as you know because i think i have a very good story for this. but here are some answers (No spoilers so no worries)
1) What happened to the world?
-Well it isn't so much the world its self, but the world that is known through the main characters perspective. and what changed it was running into some objects
2) Which Objects need to be hunted down?
some objects would be
-The Rabbits foot
-The Pencil
-The Umbrella
-The Quarter
-The Desk
-The Cufflink
(and many others that appear in my story that i'm not going to mention because i don't want to ruin anything)
3) What are their powers?
Well i don't want to spoil anything but some of them are new and some of them are made up but most of them you already know.
4) Which Object or Objects does the player have?
Now that's going to be a secret until you start the game
5) It's power..?
I think Chris has already mentioned its power to us all
6) Who will be chasing you down?
one of the different people i have written in the script that i should tell you about now is a man that goes by the name "Mr. Pennybags" from the monopoly game. his real name is . But you will be also hunted by several other people/factions.
7) How do you end the story?
i can't give away the ending that would ruin everything lol

Re: The Lost Room Video Game Mods
A little Note on the Crysis Mod.
The reason you have to hunt down objects is either to find an object to combat someone else object. or to help you progress in the game. Example for the show is miller had the Key to get back were Wally was, when Wally used the bus ticket on him. and when Crozfeld used the Flask on the lady with the Scissors. But the objects will also be used to run away like Strizkey did with the comb.
And another thing is that the game will be played without the use of guns so you have to use the objects to get to the people and to solve some puzzles.
=================================
-----------------------------------------------------------
=================================
And this is something i want all to know about why i'm using Crysis.
I'm using Crysis because of the following reasons
-first its beautiful graphics
-secondly the physics and destructibility of the environments is perfect for certain objects from the lost room is ideal.
-Thirdly the game Mod Tools are very simple and allow for many real time changes.
-Fourth the game allows for in-game cut scenes and other tools that make this almost the perfect platform for telling a story like this.
Oh and as always send me suggestions or questions if you have any i love talking about this project
