Re: Troubleshooting

I think your stuck with the Alt-Tab problem, your not the only one who gets it. Its down to your operating system. Older OS's like Windows 98 can Alt-Tab no problem, but its the newer OS's that have trouble.

Not sure about the actual details about which OS are effected though so you'll probably have to ask around.

-----------------Edit--------------------

Recently been informed that the issue may infact lie with the Graphics Card Drivers, not the OS.

Rainmoons site ( E-Mods, listed on our Links page ) has much more detailed information regarding troubleshooting various problems.

Re: Troubleshooting

Thats a common problem, the WON server is down, the wait can be anything from a couple of hours to a few days.
Just keep trying.

Re: Troubleshooting

Sounds like your char file got corrupted, or maybe you removed a skinfile from a char that still exists in your "crypt".

Solution : Delete the entire contents of your "Crypt" folder. It'll mean remaking all your chars again though but its better than never being able to use MP.

Try that and see if it works, if not, I'll look deeper into the matter.

Also, when you reinstalled Vamp, did you delete everything that was left behind and not removed by the uninstall process?
Whenever you uninstall something you should check what was left behind then throw whatever is left into the recycle bin and delete it BEFORE reinstalling.

A good tip is to get a registry cleaner to remove redundant entries BEFORE reinstalling anything.

Re: Troubleshooting

Howdy,

Before I installed Vampire, I saved the character and save game files... And I found out that this problem is because of my character. Not Stefano or Romuel but because of another character I called 's h i t h e a d' (just to play with other people emoticon ). I removed that character out of my crypt folder and it works again! woohoo emoticon .

But err, I'm not feeling well right now, so I'm going back to bed emoticon .

Re: Troubleshooting

Glad you got it sorted, 90% of the time, any crash when you try to access MP is down to some prob with the char files.

You could try removing one char from the crypt folder then start MP up, if it crashes, remove another and try, etc. It might take longer than deleting the lot but at least you wont loose many chars that way.

Crashes will happen if you have a char in the first slot of the list where you choose a char and you have previously removed the skin .nob file. Best way to avoid a crash at MP startup is to delete the character entry before removing any custom skins that may be in use.

Also, char file corruption is an issue that anyone who has played vamp for any length of time will have encountered, the causes are numerous. Its a good idea to keep a record of any chars stats and disciplines on paper. Or make regular backups of the file itself emoticon

Re: Troubleshooting

So I managed to get into the multiplayer lobby just fine, however when I attempt to establish a room or do anything of that sort, the game shuts off.

I just reinstalled it and there are no saved files or anything of that sort. I did notice that I had managed to get to the character creation screen once, but have not been able to do that again since.

Everything is updated.
