This is EXCELLENT - Understanding B&W Conversion
Here's an excellent website I stumbled upon that describes diffferent methods of conversion as well as tutorials on conversion theory for producing black and white images from colour..

Does anyone use the Hue/Saturation layer method? I'd be interested in seeing any images created this way.
