PS7 Problem
I have been going through the tutorials on the site reccomended by Steve7 and was working through the Teager enhancement when it came to a command to Merge visible layer into a composite layer using Ctrl+Alt+Shft+E, but PS7 uses this keyboard command in two ways it seems, it also uses it to "Stamp Visible" which is all it does for me, how else can I get a new composite layer, I don't see it as a menu option anywhere?

Hi Kapeji
I'm not familiar with PS7, so I don't know if it has a "merge-to-new-layer" feature. However, you can substitute "merge-to-background" instead:
- At step 16, flatten all layers to background.
- Then duplicate the background layer and call the new layer "Layer 3" (there is no "Layer 2").
- Then carry on with step 17.
The parameters you see in the tutorial are the exact parameters that Bernd sent me, and they work for that particular photo. You'll want to adjust the parameters to suit your photo.
I haven't really investigated this enhancement to see how it can be adjusted. I found that the Taeger enhancement as described creates a very "etched" look and makes the photo rather "flat". It looks absolutely horrible on portraits. Again, try playing with the parameters to see what you get.
Anyway, good luck.

Re: PS7 Problem
Hi Dan, thanks for that, it worked fine. I agree that this process will have limited application,(It does have an "etched" look) but in the right image could look good. I am really only working through the various techniques for experience and learning rather than working on any particular image with a result in mind. Some excellent stuff on those pages.
