Not sure of 14 but SD10 has, yup, a removeable dustfilter which cuts out IR. Remove that and camera becomes IR sensitive (so takes IR + visible - which is what I use). Slap something like an R72 on and it becomes IR only (but useable at normal shutter/exposures)

great thanks, might have to look out for one and a decent wideangle.
I have a lot of respect for fuji and sigma for going their own way with sensors.
