Hi from Bedfordshire

Hello Everybody,
I have just joined the site and wanted to introduce myself properly.
I live in Bedfordshire and love getting out and about with my camera. I will photograph anything but I am not very good at portrait or landscape photography so I tend towards still life and pictorial.
I have had some success in National and International Exhibitions and Salon's over the past nine months and have recently had three images accepted in the Cotswold Monochrome Salon. I think I need to improve my understanding of how to produce good quality images in mono and especially how to print them well.
I am looking forward to being an active member of the forum.
Shirley

Hi Shirley

Thank you all for your welcome.
I seem to do better with my digital images than my prints so I am sure I need to learn lots when it comes to my printing techniques.

Welcome to the forum! This is definately the place for black and white. I highly reccomend martins tutorial cd. It has helped me lots just to see his process of building up and image and rather than just have a set of instructions actually see the effect of each step on the screen. You also end up hating little white vans. There is also a great plugin included on the cd.
It might not help you depending on your learning style but if you are a visual learner its great.
