viewing our images

Hi all

Just wondered what program you use to download your images at the end of the day and more importantly are you able to see all downloaded images in Black and White.

I would like to see the entire folder in B/W without having to edit any so that I might get an idea of what might work and not of course.

I hope I have explained myself so you understand, but in a nutshell, If I download 100 images I want to see all 100 in B/W at a click of a button.

I think it might help me with my selections for further considerations and conversion.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Jim

When you download them from a camera Adobe Lightroom could certainly do this for you if your import conversion preset were one of the mono settings it provides (or one you have generated).

as Bill says - I use LR too - but mostly now I have a look in camera first where the view is set to BW - this gives me a good idea

Re: viewing our images

thank you both very much.
I do use Lightroom and of course Bill you are right.
Not only can you import them in B/W you can select a library of hundreds of images > select all> still in library mode, select quick develop>then use the drop down menu of saved preset ie general grayscale, and there you have a folder of quick B/W images.
To undo, just select all>saved preset.default settings.

Thanks once again I will now look at todays efforts and try to post a couple later.

I have gone off adding an auto preset to displayBW in LR because it makes i hard to assess the image inother wys and whenyou have thousands they soon blur into one big grey mish mash

That's why I look in camera with BW settings diosplayed there (shooting RAW)

if you use a Mac, just click on "use grayscale" in Universal Access preferences, and the whole screen goes grey. You can toggle it back & forth in seconds. Gordon

Aah man I had forgotten about that! You can even reverse it and have it in B+W negative! Freaky! emoticon
