Test poll for montly comp

We are not getting enough votes for our monthly comp, This is because its not set up in an ideal manner and people forget to or do not know how to vote, at the moment we send our choice to Crimbo, he counts the vote and announces the winner. So to see if this new system works I have set up the above poll.

The idea is at the end of a monthly competition a poll is posted with the names of the entrants, you are allowed one vote of your choice, the poll closes exactly one week from opening and the winner is selected from the poll votes

Just to see if it works OK please pick a name from the poll selection above and submit your vote, this will help me in setting it up and how it works, I have voted for myself and as you can see a blue bar showing that, I need to see what happens when other votes are submitted

Martin

Like that system
didn't see any blue bars before I voted
after voting the results appeared but I cannot vote again
but I did vote for myself .... so is there a way to stop that?

Matin,
A good idea and will make things easier for the plebs like me. I must admit Iam one of the guilty parties I love to see everybodies images get inspired and then I'm off to to try and emulate the great quality I see.
Will try harder.

Well the idea is not to see the result unless you vote, one votes is allowed per person only, what would you like to stop Chris ??

Unfortunately Runboard does not allow mass email for fear of virus spam mail. So the best way I can think of is to have a separate polling both, and at the end of a comp a reminder to vote is given in the separator above the "polling both" forum. not totally ideal but I think people don't vote in the main because you have to email or PM your vote to Chris !!

It's not because it's difficult to do that - not for me anyway- it's just that there is no prompt to get me to do it emoticon

Sorry Simon but thats as far as I can go in this voting, if I could I would mass email every member but this board does not allow that. you will just have to view the voting area spacer at the end of every month, it will be in CAPS reminding members to vote, put a reminder on your comp to prompt you
