Midday contrasts 2

This one remindes me of a picture I took some years ago with my first camera - russian zenith, the heaviest film camera that exists I think emoticon Only now I have the control over the editing process. Critique welcomed.

I realised almost all my pictures from the last session have poor quality, probably due to the f22. I think going above f11 is pointless with my kit lens. Do you experience the same? Here's another one, again f22 and again poor quality I think emoticon

It is a well documented fact that the smallest apertures result in degraded image quality, especially with cheaper lenses. Have to say I am sceptical it makes a whit of difference at the size we see them on this forum.

The first shot, with the pool is pleasant enough but lacks a lead in or focal point so my eye just wanders round.
#2 seem much better.

Martin this tread may help http://www.runboard.com/bthedigitalmonochromeforum.f3.t198128
Yes at web size quality is a little subjective and hence you need your own web page with bigger images occasionally...even Flikr and the like allow big images...

As for the first image i differ from Bill...it a nice image and as if i had come across the pond my eyes wander and take it all in...

Thanks guys. I took some pictures today morning, all with f11, and I'll try to compare.

I quite like both with a preference to the first image which has a nice textural quality, nice to see you shooting into the light as well Martin
