The Finishing Line

Taken at the school sports day last wednesday. Most of the pics taken were pure record shots of children but did try to do something 'worthy'! Not sure if this works, maybe the crop is too tight, also feel that the contrast is not right. Any thoughts?

Thank you

Hi Shirley

The crop is a weeny bit tight, do you have more in the original? If not it is OK as is.

As for the contrast I had a play with it and felt if you adjusted the levels to 15:50:255 and then masked back detail in the socks and shirts it lifted this no end.

Great concept, well done.

Thank you both of for your encouraging response. I have to be honest and say that I hadn't really used masks before coming on this forum so I am going to get my book out and see if I can work out how to do what you suggest Bill. With the layers figures I assume these refer to R G B channels.
