Palo Duro Canyon

Palo Duro Canyon near Amarillo, Texas. Tried to get an "old-timey" look in the PP.

Re: Palo Duro Canyon

when converting to B+W use a blue filter or the blue channel only...old film was blue sensitive only, later came some green sensitivity and later red

Re: Palo Duro Canyon

I was trying to get an older feel through the duotone and source-photo texture. I tried the Blue adjustments w/ the Channel Mixture, but couldn't get anything that seemed worthwile.

This is the original. Feel free to work w/ it. Always looking to learn new stuff.

Re: Palo Duro Canyon

After seeing yours, I remember reading elsewhere that old photos (due to the blue filter) usually had skies that were washed out....Which, is one of the issues I was having w/ using the blue channel in Channel Mixer.

Thanks for posting your example, Chris. I really enjoy seeing the difference.

How early are you going? There were many processes in adition to silver; cyanotypes, platinum and gum bichromate to name just 3.
